Re: Gateshead (H) Thread
Wow what a game, incredible performance from everyone involved. Ten goals scored in a week it doesn't get any better than that.

Re: Gateshead (H) Thread
Will be a tough against unbeaten opposition, not sure if we will have any other players back from injury but seems unlikely.

Re: Sutton (H)
A very good performance with everyone playing their part. Thought Pereria was outstanding again. Also even more satisfying to play this well with so many players missing through injury.

Re: Inih Effiong
He is 5 years younger than Effiong and haven't paid a few for him, this said, the last couple of seasons hasn't scored many goals but young enough to he be a good signing with his pedigree.VIEW FROM THE STAND wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 9:21 pm Southend have signed Macauley Bonne, so dont't know where that leaves any Effiong deal.

Re: Sutton (H)
Like a number of people I imagine cannot get too excited about England game anyway. Three points for the Daggers would be far better.

Re: Inih Effiong
It has been said on here that he had been offered a good deal from us but he was pushing for a two year deal. As he is 33 years old who collapsed on the pitch only last season and also had injury problems it was not considered suitable to agree to his terms. He has not done very well at Braintree so...

Re: Maidenhead (A)
A game we should have won comfortably, Dion was was good as usual but thought Akinola was excellent and just hope his injury at the end was not as bad as it looked.

Dion playing which is great news, Umerah up front instead of Grego-Cox.

Maidenhead (A)
The injury situation looks grim, so expecting a number of players to miss the game, so not sure what to expect from us today.

Re: York City (Home)
In fairness to Strevens we have been recently taken over by new owners who are not going to do a " Wrexham" and throw loads of money at the club that is simply not sustainable. They appear to want to build the club from the bottom upwards which can be seen in signing a number of youngsters...

York City (Home)
Hess, Hill and Lawless all out injured for a few weeks at least which is a huge blow. We have signed Akinola as a midfield replacement so will have to see if he will be playing today. York seem to be a bit of a bogey team but hope that we still have enough to beat them.

Re: Keenan Appiah-Forson
A huge disappointment we couldn't keep him and seems even worse that he has signed for our rivals. Would have felt much better if he had signed for a football league team.

Re: Southend Away
Would have settled for a draw before the game but disapointed we couldn't hold out for a few minutes more. We need to hold onto the ball better rather than giving it away so easy.
