How true, but it doesn't stop certain posters reverting to name calling & insults just because your opinion differs from theirs!![/quote]

You're quite correct, but I find it's best to ignore the people that do that.

Re: Farewell Luke

The stuff about him not wanting to fight isn't a matter of opinion. It's a matter of fact. A lot of the other stuff has been shown to be crap. Examples are the suggestions as to the level the Femi and Lewington would find themselves at after leaving us. An opinion isn't any less crap just because it...

Re: Farewell Luke

I really don't get this stuff about not wanting to fight for his place. If he felt he wasn't going to get a fair chance under Burnett, why would he want to hang around to be stuck on the bench when he could go somewhere where he might actually get a chance to play? The reactions to players that chos...

Re: Farewell Luke

I'm not sure what Femi situation is being talked about?
The one where we was managed brilliantly and brought back to earth?
Or the one where he got the the end of his contract and decided to not stay and play for a manager who wouldn't let him play his natural game.

Re: Farewell Luke

I'd rather have him than Saah. I don't think it's entirely coincidental that we were so poor from set pieces - both defensively and attacking without him. How many games did he play with Doe as a partner last season? There weren't many. It's easy to say he was poor with Saah, but Saah was just as po...

Re: Lewington No 2 at Colchester

Can't see anything that says he's gone there just to be no 2. Everything I've read says he's gone there to push their other keeper. He's got himself a 3 year deal and is probably getting paid more. Let's be honest if he'd stuck around, he'd have just had to put up with the constant whining about him...

Re: Current Squad

We've seen what experienced football league players can be like (ala Dickson) so why not give these hungry young players a go? We were very much a surprise package last season that even shocked a load of us. Why can't we do it again? We all agree that what Wayne has moved on has been the right choi...

Re: Current Squad

Experience isn't always expensive. There will be experienced players that other clubs aren't that interested in. I'm all for giving young players a chance but they need experience around them. We missed a Peter Gain or Mark Arber last year. Of the signings we've made, I'm not sure any are improvemen...

Re: Seabright signs for Torquay

I think going there to be no 2 makes a lot of sense. He's now got a contract, he can plan where he's going to live and so on. What did he get offered by us - come back for pre-season training, we might then offer you something? Nah, I'd go for the firm offer every time. To me, the 'come back for pre...

Re: another new(ish) signing

on wikipedia it says batt played for redbrdgie in 2004..1 game It does. The detail on Wikipedia seems to have been updated now, as earlier in the week it said he played for us, but now says it was Redbridge. Someone might want to have a word with whoever put the press release together and point out...

Re: Zav & Gav

Of course as Adrian says Zav signed and fulfilled his one year contract and is free to move on to bigger and better things but Im not sure we should be there just in case it goes wrong for him every time. He's turned us down so let him go.Close the door, get someone else. Personally I cant see either...

Re: Zav & Gav

This thread is great. Hines doesn't seemed to have ever really wanted to commit himself to the club and that's all fine by some. But Hoyte, who did at least initially commit himself gets abused based on one comment by the manager, when Id be surprised if anyone actually knows the full facts. For exa...

Re: another new(ish) signing

Pretty sure he's never played for us, unless it was a friendly or the ESC.

We've had Shaun and Matt Batt.

It's good to be getting some experience in, a little worrying that he'd dropped down to Conf South, but that appears to be due to him retiring from full time football last year.

Re: Second Goalkeeper

I'm going to stick with my view that its the presence of posters like you who act in the way you do to anyone that doesn't fit with your expectations. Exaggerating claims about things other posters have said is one good example. I most definitely did not slate the club for the Spain trip. I question...
