Re: Glenn Tamplin Interview

Good interview. Thanks for posting. As said, makes you wonder why this wasn't done earlier. I'm glad he acknowledges his faults in this and also isn't too bleary eyed about the things that need to change at the club. Perhaps I've read too much into it, but I doubt Thommo will be around the club in h...

Re: Commercial Ideas to attract more/new fans

In my opinion we need to look at; . Installing something on the main road to tell people that this is our home, we are here and this is when we are playing. . More competitions for the kids - be a mascot, free tickets etc. Get this into the schools and sports clubs across the borough and the results...

Re: Tamplin - Yes or No

Sorry to be "that guy" that comments rather than just votes, but none of the above really apply to me. I think I'd be a "reluctant yes" if it meant he didn't have a controlling interest. I don't think it's as black and white as "yes or no". I'm very much of this opinio...

Re: Johnny Hoof

Saturday was my first home game this season as was probably the most enjoyable game I've been to for a good long while. The attacking part of this team look so confident and fearless, despite the step up that a lot have had to make. Justham's kicking helps out a lot and got a lot of moves going on S...

Re: Was the Tommo interview broadcast?

Tamplin would do himself a massive favour to send an open letter to fans via the press. It would explain his position, what his intentions and aims are. I think to have any involvement in professional sport (regardless of role) that you have to be thick skinned. Some of the responses on here have be...

Re: Gooders on radio

I think Hill left by mutual consent that year. In those cases, its a negotiable fee; if any at all. Burnett being sacked is slightly different in that he is entitled to the full sum of the contract. Bigger budgeted clubs would usually be able to pay this off in one; but we clearly cant. Usually ther...

Re: Dagenham & Redbridge F.C. - For Sale ???

Realistically, we need someone with a good business plan for the club. 'Treading water' is not something that will work forever and in a difficult market (especially being outside the football league) there needs to be a clear long term plan for growth. It's too early to cast aspersions and say who ...

Re: Howell and Doe

In my opinion, this highlights how important it was for the club to clear the deadwood. I was disappointed when both left last summer and was surprised to see where they were prepared to play just to get away. From the performances on and off the field, top to bottom; it's become ever more apparent ...

Re: 3 year plan

I think the idea to reduce the midweek fixtures is a fantastic idea and will encourage more through the gates across the country. I also like the idea of restructuring the football league trophy and think it's a good idea to use international weekends will keep a bit of interest in clubs. There's a ...

Re: Vanarama Tour

I trust John and the rest of the staff to assemble an half decent daggers team by the end of August. While I don't think we'll be straight back up; I think a good solid top half finish is well within our means. Some interesting looking teams in there but I echo the earlier sentiments that next year'...

Re: Released

I love these threads because there's always the usual piss taking about bringing people out of retirement. Getting out of the conference sharpish will be tough enough as it is; without having to identify young talent and gelling them into a team and expecting them to get us up at the first time of a...

I don't think this quite went to plan did it?

Still, a bit of lighthearted misdirection never hurt anyone, did it?

Arnu, if you're gonna apply for Thommo's job this summer - just send this in!

Re: The fat lady sings !

I think the worst thing is going down with a complete whimper. The year we came down from league one; there was a sense of pride in the club that despite some awful transfer decisions, we still had a go. This year it's been pathetic. A complete embarrassment all round. We're back at our natural leve...

Re: Jodi Jones

I wish him well. I think the way Coventry City have handled it is quite frankly a slap in the face to clubs in this country. I don't recall the emergency loan system just being another window. To come out and say that he'll be part of the u21 setup is a bit ridiculous and makes it all a bit farcical...

Re: 2016/17 Predictions

Hopefully with a smaller budget we can bin off having so many loans and blood in some decent youngsters on the fringes of the first team. I don't expect us to bounce back any time soon either. The hangover of relegation will probably stick with us for a couple of years at least. I also don't believe...
