They're good for the clubs who have them, I do agree, mainly for revenue purposes. I do think they currently give them an advantage in performance too - the bounce and run of the ball is still a bit different and difficult to get used to for away teams. Last time I played on a modern plastic pitch ...

To be fair, results did improve - first half season 13 points, second half of season 21 points. Still not good enough though.
