Re: Dagenham Essex Thameside Trophy

Pretty sure I was at the 74/75 final which was played at Victoria Road. Couldn't recall who against though, sorry.

The trophy itself was a beautiful thing, a silver ship.

Re: All Change For Braintree

Munns was one of the most consistent players on that run we had mid season, all that without a preseason. True, but he was playing wide. When he came inside into what is his preferred position he has been patchy TBH,tends to go chasing the game and we lose shape. Not convinced either way, but proba...

Re: All Change For Braintree

Mind you I wouldn't base my decision to offer a further contract to a player on the basis of a one off performance in an end of season kick about against a team already relegated. And he probably won't, however, if any of them thought they deserved a new contract it was a chance to impress in a pro...

Re: All Change For Braintree

Currently several teams cobbled together on peanuts that are way above us in the league, squads of 30 don't come cheap. Some teams in our league have about 20 players and are well above us. You can't just ditch players that were signed on one year contracts mid season though, they remain our player...

Re: Supporters club monthly prize draw for March and April 2019

Congratulations to the winners. Out of interest, how is this draw funded, is it a "250 club" type thing? No the money comes from the supporters club funds I.E. fund raising, golden goals and membership subscriptions. Wow really? I thought that was used to keep down the cost of away travel?...

Re: Should Peter Taylor be Daggers manager next season?

The abuse i've have seen is that he is negative with his set up, mainly when people have traveled vast distances only for a negative attitude to trying to win a game. We know this isn't you as you don't follow outside a 30 mile radius. Shame on you part time fan. Fake debate = no one is allowed an ...

Re: VAR

And after last night's dramas, I still stand by my original comment. Get it right, or get it wrong immediately, VAR kills the emotion of the experience. This is true either way, Spurs 3rd goal was examined from 10 different angles before being official. Not as dramatic as 92 minutes in, but kills th...

Re: Should Peter Taylor be Daggers manager next season?

I do think it's important to engage with the fans though and I do wonder if PT is a bit of an obstinate bloke. Ipswich are an example of how things can go sour between the fans and manager (and Alladyce at West Ham) and I think that relationship is an important part of today's game. Doesn't help wh...

Re: Club development plans

The owners have made clear their strategy every time on this, that they want to improve the match day experience. The current club shop in the temporary building is frankly falling down and looks terrible, and happens to be the first building encountered on the way in from Victoria Road. Building so...

Re: Whereabouts

Whereabouts in the request to “just don’t get us relegated and build a team out of nothing so we don’t fold Peter” does it say storm the league get promoted Or we’ll sack you if ya don’t ?? It's a very interesting point. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I think most people who want him ou...

Re: Havant & Waterlooville

There was an 'and'. The handful of changes made us markedly more defensive but ok let's ignore that. We went to one of the worst sides around and lost by 3 having barely laid a glove on them. This is woeful by any interpretation. Yes, it was a disappointing result, no one is arguing that. However i...
