Still would like a decent middle centre back.

I think we all would like a decent centre half, so perhaps our recruitment consultant could go get one!

Re: Monday Night Football
Agree that prices are a big factor for getting in parents with youngsters. I remember taking junior to an away game at Bury a few years back and their adult plus junior ticket waa cheaper than a single adult ticket. An interesting marketing ploy! I remember talking to poor old Simmo about prices for...

Re: Chesterfield (H)
I was struck by how many glum looking people were trudging out of the Bury Rd end last week about 10 minutes before the end. I suspect Southend outnumbered us last week. It does beg the question about attracting people in. Sussex and I were commenting on the lack of dads with lads these days. 1300 o...

Re: Stockport away
I don't know the answer for football but both cricket and rugby league have been welcoming away fans. Rail travel seems to be a problem for this match, I believe?

Re: Fixtures Released
Strange that Southend aren't the Boxing Day/New Year opponent. They have Bromley, who I would have thought would have been better for Dover? If Dover don't pay their fine it could be a quiet festive season!

Re: Stockport (A)
The mid season recruitment seems to have paid off. The team looks a whole lot better than at Xmas time. Is this the influence of the new chief scout being felt?

Re: Southend boxing day next season
Of course I accomodate my relatives, mainly in the west wing and the servant's quarters. I usually allow the travelling community access to my paddock as an act of generosity. Me and the lad are thinking of nipping down there tomorrow to have a good laugh at their supporters when they get relegated ...

Re: Southend boxing day next season
And if fans are allowed, will away fans be allowed? I think when we had a crowd last year away fans were not permitted. Given where I live (I can see Southend's floodlights in the distance from my front garden) I might have more chance of getting to the away game if they regulate ticket sales by pos...

Re: Season Ticket Poll
I don't have one and haven't for a couple of seasons now. The scheduling this year made it unattractive because of the overlap with cricket (currently watching the free Essex live stream on you tube) before the lockdown scuppered everything. If the club reverted to £200 - £220 to stand I would proba...

Re: BBC Radio
BBC Essex dropped out of covering us when Braintree got promoted. When I asked about it, I was told they didn't have the resource to cover four teams and as Daggers are in Greater London, which is Radio London territory, they were the team to miss out. Radio London gave Orient coverage in the Nation...

Re: Torquay (H)
We've probably got the best keeper in the league and a bang average strike force. The,much maligned Quigley has got more than this bunch! The signings now being made seem a cut above the journeymen taken on in the summer. At least we are now hard to beat, even if we struggle to score. Perhaps the fo...

Re: Signings, signings and more bloody signings
The trouble is the approach being taken doesn't really seem to be working. A decade ago we were playing Huddersfield, Southampton and Brighton. Today, after conceding an injury time equaliser to Weymouth we travel to Altrincham. I didn't watch on Tuesday and I shall be watching rugby league later an...
