Re: Friendly: Aveley (A)
An afternoon littered with positives, in so far as you can take any from friendlies especially at such an early stage. The performance was very sharp in phases and it was a valuable exercise for the side as every first-teamer bar Mussa, Effiong and Tavares got minutes. The two trialists on show in t...

📝 Signing | Frank Vincent
More tiny business it seems with another player that comes with shining endorsements from their previous club - Frank Vincent, who left Notts County in the summer. Couldn't nail down a place there last season, so went on loan to Aldershot where he by all accounts shone, but to even be part of that N...

📝 Signing | Tom Eastman
Extremely happy with this. The profile of centre half we've been crying out for who, at 31 having spent his entire career in the Football League, is majorly experienced while still having a lot to offer. By all accounts still capable of playing at that level hence Harrogate's sustained interest but ...

Re: Balanta
The right call unfortunately. A unique and supremely intelligent technician when operating at optimum capacity but unfortunately won't reach those levels again and we obviously could not risk a third season where the outlay on him went unjustified. Came back looking sharp with goals in each of his f...

Re: Justham Off to Southend?
Great to tie him down. Not only among the best goalkeepers in the division by every metric but also somebody whose sincere love for the club has always shone through over the years. Important character on and off the pitch.

📝 Signing | Ryan Hill
Second summer signing is Ryan Hill, a 25 year-old winger from Eastleigh who by all accounts is industrious and presses high, albeit hasn't produced great attacking output. Eastleigh's statement cites his desire to be reunited with Ben Strevens. Seems we're being more tailored in our recruitment this...

Re: The Released Players Thread
Eastleigh duo Jake Hesketh and Ouss Cissé are the only ones I find remotely appealing from the released lists so far, but we should primarily be looking at players who have been let go from League Two sides.

Re: Altrincham
A typical mid-table dead rubber affair really. After the debacle of Southend a few days earlier and the damning comments that followed, it was utterly tedious yet not surprising to concede twice again in the very same twenty-minute window following the restart especially having been reasonable befor...

Re: Sarfend away
An occasion that required heart as a non-negotiable necessity instead proved beyond any lingering doubt to a visibly infuriated Strevens that this group are the exact opposite from his initially-stated vision of one that values the badge. Deconstructing Saturday's abysmal no-show: https://dagnificen...
