Re: NL: Aldershot Town (A) 30 September 2023

Trinity are still subsidising the club this season. Maybe to a lesser extent, but they are still putting their own money into our team. I don't think we have any right to demand more from them. I know football is insane these days and almost every club seems to depend on millionaires but to say trin...

Re: NL: Bromley (H) 19 September 2023

Needed to switch play earlier, too many times we used 5 passes to go across the pitch when one or two may have created an overload. I'm not sure about putting someone alongside Kendall. I don't think we'd get far playing 442, a 4312 would mean we have no width and I really don't like us in a 352. I ...

Re: NL: Bromley (H) 19 September 2023

Where we once relied heavily on Westy, now it is Hill. Vincent may very well be out of position on the right but he didn't do much earlier in the season in the middle either. He never looked like beating his man or delivering any quality into the box. He keeps losing the ball in good areas. So our o...

Re: NL: Chesterfield (A) 9 September 2023

The GK sets up the wall and he set it up wrong. Maybe it is harsh but these are the fine margins that games hinge on.

Re: NL: AFC Flyde (H) 2 September

Hill, Tavares both excellent. Hessenthaler and Rees best games for us to date, the former played well and the latter still not brilliant but a definite improvement. Kendall worked so hard but not sure he's ever going to score any goals. Mussa did well and a lovely goal. Thought the ref was 5/10 at b...

Re: Barnet

It was a good save. But in that particular incident if he'd gone towards the ball earlier he could have just picked it up I thought. I was calling for him to go and get it what felt like at least a second before he started to move.

Re: Barnet

That performance was exactly what I expected we'd get under Strevs. 100% committment, hard running, difficult to score against, for 95 minutes. Now we need to do it again Monday.

Re: How safe is Strevens position?

Not sure any manager of our club should be given any more money. A reduced budget still isn't poverty. Ben is a well loved here and everyone wants him to do well but we've got a bad side and he recruited a fair number of them. I do have some sympathy with some of Daryl's dross still under healthy co...

Re: Southend United

Whole thing is mental. Appreciate all clubs at this level are probably one absent owner away from insolvency, but unless we're about to reform the entire sport, the only course of action is to stop the club competing. It makes a mockery of the integrity of the competition. If you can't pay your staf...

Re: What are Ben's options here?

I believe it is still a half decent budget for this level, although it seems we have to continue spending a chunk of it on Mussa and also Balanta rumoured payout. I wonder if our club has taken advantage of these pretty unfair new NL contracts whereby we can reduce salaries after 12 weeks of inactiv...

Re: NL: Gateshead (H) 15 August 2023

No issue with a smaller squad but as noted they have to be reliable with a long history of being injury free, and they have to be very good. Clubs have done it in the past but if course the league is now seemingly dominated by money clubs with 25+ players. If Hare and Page are long term, we need mor...

Re: NL: Gateshead (H) 15 August 2023

Can't see it getting better very quickly. Gateshead are very good on the ball and will move it quickly and make life very difficult for us. If we are really wedded to this 352 I'd at least like to see Johnson, Weston and Lawless come in for Page, Kendall and Rees. I'd put Ibie up top with Inih. I wo...

Re: Dreadfull.

Terrible. Ibie as a wing back, do me a favour. The midfield 3, looked like 3 lads we'd pulled out of the pub, painfully slow, not sharp. Rees totally anonymous and Vincent couldn't pass wind. Kendall offered zero up front, no pace, couldn't hold it up, didn't link with anyone. No legs in the team wh...
