Re: The Released Players Thread

Eastleigh - now there is a club awaiting oblivion very soon. Trying to get league soccer when they could only muster 300 spectators last season. Histon, Hornchurch, Canvey, Grays, Brackley, Colne .....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Oh well, I hope their captain, Glen Southam makes a few bob before it all ...

Re: Matt Partridage v Lee Hughes

Without meaning to dismiss a lengthy post... Lee Hughes didn't just get involved in a terrible accident for which he was punished, he then proceeded to leave the scene of said accident before turning himself in to police two days later. The drinking and even the accident can be excused but the gutle...

They are 11s for the Conference title... not too shabby odds

Thought they were due a big summer when James Constable signed for them up front

Re: Medy joins Dutch team; puzzled looks all round

The last thing we want to do with Cureton is get him match fit AND get his goalscoring eye back in if he is going back to Cheltenham ;)

Re: Medy joins Dutch team; puzzled looks all round

The other news from Wayne's interview, is that Rhys is not even running at the moment after his op. A specialist will determine tomorrow if he can start jogging/running etc but it must surely be unlikely that he will be ready for the start of the season. I hope we do not rush him back, as we need h...

Re: Trailists

Sounds like the team is starting to take shape and gel but a win or two before the season begins would be nice for the confidence levels, especially with the new players in.

Nathan Green (LB) signed on a few weeks ago I think?

Re: Hoyte likely to sign

Surely he wouldn't have run down his contract, even after the international call-up unless an agent or someone close had told him a move to a higher division club was there for him? If he had signed on with us again and a League 1 or Championship team came in for him, he would have known that we are...

Re: Hoyte likely to sign

Sometimes he can lack a bit of positional awareness, but against a striker who doesn't have Oxlade-Chamberlain or Walcott pace, you really notice how quick he is... surprised he couldn't get a League One move, having left

Re: Medy joins Dutch team; puzzled looks all round

Extra pressure now on whoever is up top come August as Medy did manage to score a goal or two... we can't be relying just on Abu to support a few goals

Re: Medy joins Dutch team; puzzled looks all round

Has JP gone elsewhere or just not fancied? Haven't seen anyone else on trial who could do the wide and central attacking role

Re: Medy joins Dutch team; puzzled looks all round

If he had handed in a transfer request I don't imagine it will be too high... not likely to be too much haggling if he wanted out and we were happy to allow him to move.

Re: Medy joins Dutch team; puzzled looks all round

Don't strikers in the Dutch League end up with 40 odd goals in 30 games over there? If the standard is high but the style of play lets him run with the ball, beat players and his size doesn't affect him then he should do well... I would guess it is less physical than League 2 of Conference Level Eng...

Re: Farewell Luke

When Lewington starts regularly this season I will be concerned about him 'moving up a division' to a higher level of football... He could have gone to Man City or Chelsea and been 3rd choice but doesn't mean he will improve his game if he isn't playing week in, week out. No-one really doubted Femi ...
