Re: The thoughts of DJB....
NBDag, Please clarify your comment then "apart from financial survival". Are you implying he is not interested in the financial survival of the club (in my world making money not losing it) or what....?

Re: 5 from 7
I do believe (to be corrected of course) this was an 18 month gig. I did read somewhere, cannot remember where, he had plans to retire in 18 months. Now, things do change of course, and as I say, I am somewhat removed from the daily goings on, but his current contract ends at the end of this season ...

AVFL wrote "I believe they've got bigger things on their mind at the moment mate" Correct, but I would like to think the professionals who run this club can handle more than one issue at a time. Especially when one (the sale) appears to be a maybe/maybe not and the other, the JS issue, is ...

Re: 5 from 7
Arnu, this is all well and good and I feel for sure we will be in the promotion hunt at the end of the season. However, my concern right now is the fact, unless I have missed something over the summer months what with the take over and all, JS has for all intents and purposes told the board he will ...

Re: The EU Referendum
Paul, with respect to the UK timeline in the EU, it has taken 40 odd years to get to where we are today. Like most of those who wish to stay, you are perhaps looking at things through rose tinted glasses. With unemployment as it is in Europe, the economies of perhaps as many as 80% of the countries ...

Re: Full Members Meeting
Dagger 83, it is not about making wrong decisions, it is about continually making wrong decisions. You site the case of the managerial decisions. Well, perhaps the 1st "mistake" was not relieving JS the first time when things looked grim. The 2nd mistake was once JS was no longer here, aft...

Re: The EU Referendum
So Paul, apologies for being late to this thread, but I feel a need to say a few words on the issue. Not that it matters to me in the sense I am across the Atlantic, but you seem to miss a few salient points. First off, if Obama says the UK should remain, get out fast. With 92,000,000 US citizens on...

Re: Is it Goodbye or Just Au Revoir
Arnu, the basics of business are simple. We are in business for one reason and one reason only and that is to serve our customers well and if we do that, and do it well we make money and have satisfied customers who will come back for more. In this particular case, for the past 3 years, perhaps even...

Arnu, it never ceases to amaze me that you can comment "I see no reason to change much now". You actually sound like the board, we are so used to losing, let's just carry on with it.... You comment we were just not good enough appears valid, and I have to ask if that is so, why, and who is...

So, while I do not agree with what has happened here, but as I know from experience, things do happen. As some sense of "fair play journalistic reporting" I provide the following on Bill Wyman, famed bass player of The Rolling Stones who appears not to have suffered financially from the fo...
