Re: NL: Chesterfield (A) 9 September 2023
Certainly not a team you want to play on a losing run Probably what we all said last season too and then look at what happened! They definitely were the team to beat going into this season, but it’s not as big a test as Barnet was given form and circumstances. I’d happily take a point, but I hope w...

Re: NL: AFC Flyde (H) 2 September
8 days, 3 games, 3 wins, 6 scored, 1 conceded. That is a very happy bit of reading and seemed impossible 10 days ago. Fingers crossed this form continues and even when it does drop off we can rebound quickly. 3 more players in that seemingly have a lot to offer us, which is great to see. Isn’t it ni...

Re: Loan Market
Well it looks like another game passing without us strengthening the squad… If there isn’t a lack of effort from the owners to sign players then what are we missing? I don’t believe that every player we have approached is holding us to ransom.

Re: Loan Market
I would loan 1 centre back, with the duration depending on how long Eastman and DLK are out. A right back on loan for squad cover. I would also look to get a holding midfielder in on a season long loan/perm signing, Hess has started to pick things up but I think we need more depth there. Then we def...

Re: NL: Wealdstone (A) 28 August 2023
Hill, Mussa, Vincent, Phipps and Hessenthaler superb. Tavares a level above that, looking like City signed the wrong Croatian defender! The fact that Westy and Kendall both missed sitters and we ran out 2-0 winners is testament to how hard the team worked. We still don’t have a clinical finisher in ...

Re: Barnet
Huge win that I don’t think anyone saw coming. Added enjoyment also coming from convincing all my mates that Barnet at odds over evens was printing money and they all decided to back it
Hopefully a win like this will make the owners trust Strevs with a bit more money now.

Re: How safe is Strevens position?
Stevens has been set up to fail we all know this. I don’t think he should be sacked, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he is. They deliberately offered him a cheap contract so that he can be sacked easily. But sacking him won’t change anything, instead the owners should be backing him. Maybe we should...

Re: Not a great start
This comes as no surprise to anyone. This constant demise and so called under achievement over the last few seasons has 1 common denominator...The board. Nobody has a scooby about football, the owners must be using us as some sort of tax loss or just have $$$ to burn. DM had the budget but no idea ...

Re: What are Ben's options here?
Who are the injured players somehow I've missed the news. I can't see us bringing in anybody else on loan I think our budget is done. Sold our goal scorers last season and not replaced them properly slashed the budget big time. Football league more like national league south. Something needs to be ...

Re: What are Ben's options here?
I can’t see why. Strevens didn’t want him so I wouldn’t expect him to go back on that. I think it’s more likely that we bring in loan players, especially as they’re likely to be cheaper.

Somehow we have made our attack even worse than on Saturday. Very bad feeling for tonight…

Re: NL: Gateshead (H) 15 August 2023
No doubts in my mind we should be moving away from 3 at the back today. A back 4 with Johnson and Ling on each side makes most sense given injuries, a 3 man midfield with Lawless replacing Rees who already looks like he’s out of his depth, and a front three of Ibie Effiong and Weston. If we play a b...

Re: Well done James
Lots of improved jobs being done around the club. Commercial, media, management structure all look a lot more professional. Just a shame that we are still in decline in the area that matters most
