Obtaining a bank card off a friend so he could breach anti gambling laws is bad enough, for it to turn out that card has been scammed from an old man. Revolting if found guilty.

Sloppy reporting. Case not "dismissed", the jury failed to agree on a verdict. The prosecution have until Friday to indicate whether a retrial will be sought. Presumably there will be a hearing on Friday where either a retrial will be requested or no evidence offered.
