Bury Road End

Does anyone know how many seats we HAVE to guarantee away fans? If the Bury Road end could accommodate the required number,

Perhaps our MD could then obtain quotes to cover the end, install seats then provide a catering offering. Away fans in the "new Bury Road " stand and Daggers in the TBS.

As Arnu has asked on many occasions, how much would a low cost option actually cost? If we knew, then we would be enlightened rather than frustrated.

The Board could then be asked how much they would like to contribute. Surely we need Directors who are willing to inject funds or we should be seeking Directors who are willing to invest.

Then, the shortfall should be sought from our good selves! This could take the form of any number of initiatives and could take a long time, but at least we would have a target to aim for?

New sponsors? Etc

If we had a target, and the Board had played their part, then we either deliver or shut up.

I for one, would love to see this take off as we need to move forward or wither.

What do you think SteveT?

If you're going to post nonsense, at least get your own rather than just nicking arnus.

I do wonder where people think the money is coming from for all these ground improvements that would be nice to have, but aren't actually needed (unlike the Pondfield End stand or floodlight improvements which we had to build to stay in the FL).

Why should the Board invest out of their own pockets? That isn't how the club is structured or run.

Ignoring the fact that this would cost thousands of pounds, it would be heart breaking to see it two thirds empty as a home stand each week... At least when it's empty and away - it's not our fault.

If we were packing the fans in, and the Sieve and Bury road end were getting full, yes, it would be worth investigating. But as it is...

Nice to be safe from relegation and all it codt was 250k. At least three teams can be expected to be kicked out the League, oh no sorry rules are not evenly applied.

Perhaps we should have stuck two gingers upto the Football League like othrrs have done and invested money in Customer comfort a far better investment in the long run rather thrn exspensive illuminations.

I don't think we would have got away without the seats, but we could probably have dragged feet on the lights. On the other hand, why risk being one of several clubs looking over your shoulders in case they suddenly decide they want to apply the rules properly?

Not certain any amount of gingers would have the desired effect... not certain why we need to discriminate anyway? :P

The Bury Road end cannot be covered because there is not enough room to do so, unless room was made way behind the stand, but that would mean knocking down at least one house.

I discussed this with Steve last season.

As for minimum number of seats: http://www.football-league.co.uk/regula ... 33_2128158. We need a minimum capacity of 5,000 and a minimum number of 2,000 seats.

Didn't the minimum capacity used to be 6,000?
That also suggests that the improvements to floodlights are from next season, so we're just ahead of the game and the complaints about other teams not upgrading are misplaced (for now).

Well, OUR capacity is just over 6,000. Not sure if the requirements have changed.
