Yep - looks that way. I think he was set for a good season for us. Another one bites the dust. Not sure how I feel about his season but we will know a bit more at 4.45 on Saturday.

Bizarre timing, been playing in almost every game. Sell Sell sell, has Kim got his money back yet?

I suppose if he was on the 1200 a week that is reported then I can understand it but I always assumed Reynolds and Romain would be up front

Not to bothered if I’m honest, expected more from him after banging in 20 odd goals for a relegated Braintree side the season before we signed him. The strange thing though is letting your main striker leave with only 48hrs before our 1st game of the season, for most probably peanuts..
Over to Reynolds (when fit),Romain & Kandi to get us the goals now... wouldn’t say any give the impression of being proflific goalscorers though...

Annoyed with this, sold to a club who's average attendance is just 100 more than us.

not picked up my season ticket yet, can i get a refund under the consumer rights act 2015 (the Sale of Goods Act, Unfair Terms ) LOL

Having watched him in couple of pre-season games I have to say I am also not that massively upset by Cheek moving on, although the timing having invested pretty much our whole pre-season with him at centre forward is less tha ideal.

For me, he was never the same player after his injury last season. I was very underwhelmed by his efforts last week against Cambridge.

Let's hope Taylor can come up with a decent replacement.

I'm quite glad PT has made that video explaining the move.

He hardly pulled up trees last season and in my opinion hindered a lot of the attacks when Ferrier was on form. I think it was safe and reasonable to expect him to be a lot more forthcoming and a focal point of the team after banging in over 20 goals for a relegated team the year before. Injuries aside, I expected a bit more from him.

Ok, the timing is poor - but already we've got a dressing room to gel, we can't afford to have prima donnas crying because they can't go and play for the mighty Gravesend. Moving him and his agent are probably a decent move. If 1200 a week is true, that's a lot of money off the books and can be reinvested elsewhere.

Hopefully the management team will have had an idea this was on the horizon and will have a few names in mind.

I honestly don't know why we're not pursuing clubs like West Ham to ask for some of their young players - they know our financial situation and surely the players would benefit from some actual competitive football rather than playing in PL2 matches.

In more positive news, Dagenham are signing one of Ipswich’s promising youngsters.

Not been told who yet but if it’s the one I think it is, an England under 19 international, it’s a very good replacement for Cheek.

The timing of losing Cheek is a sore one though. So close to the season starting, it’s a massive shame.

Agree everything said here by MTD, he must have been aware of Ebbsfleets interest before the Cambridge game at least hence the poor effort he put in that evening. If a player is unhappy and wants away he becomes a burden to the rest of the team.

Tbh when I came over last season Kandi looked much more dangerous going forward the cheek I came to the last 10 games or so and cheek was guilty of missing so many easy chances and for the money he was on we can sign 2 players that can miss the chances instead!
