So a much needed 2-1 win. How did we play? Signs of a recovery or a fortunate win?

Well it was even first half but we scored 2 quick goals towards the end after having a brief spell on top with Mcqueen with both after he made runs through the middle. Stayed even up to about 75 minutes and after they scored, we had to survive a bombardment with good saves and a decent debut from Manny Onariase in defence. Not sure how they didn't equalise TBF

Debutants all did well- Onarise and Smith were outstanding though. Phipps much better than Wright.

Sounds very promising them. Bottom team to play on Saturday. Win there and I'll start booking time off for the play offs...

I'm glad I went. Had nobody to go with but thought why not, it could never be as bad as tuesdays abortion. Just Ham played a blinder today. The 3 new guys were good and Munns put in a solid performance. Glad for McQueen getting 2 goals and probably turning in His best ever shift for us so far. Probably a better position for him than where Taylor's played him before. I'll be honest I thought he was a donkey but I'd have to say he'd shut me up today. Keep playing like that he'll be ok. 2 or 3 more players still needed I think but things are looking up.

Phipps I felt made a huge difference to the balance today. A midfielder playing in midfield.
Well hard fought performance. 3 deserved points.

One thing I've not got with us playing Wright seemingly out of position... we seemed to have a midfielder there waiting

Well fought out three points. A bit like the Alamo last twenty minutes or so. Lucky to not have gone down to ten men with the elbowing. And just what was Reynolds doing with the ball with an open goal and the goalkeeper nowhere near him!
All in all an enjoyable afternoon and everyone put in a decent shift. And our new centre half deserved his motm.

Echo comments on here, a battling performance that deserved the three points despite hanging on for grim life at the death. New boy up front didn't set the world alight, a couple of heavy touches but I sense he might have something about him and there's much more to come.

Also,, atmosphere notch in the A13, great support!

Justham - Brilliant. Some outstanding reaction saves. One from a corner was immense and another deflected shot right at the end was knocked wide rather than back straight at the striker.

Nunn - Blocked. Blocked. Blocked. Blocked. Blocked. Solid as.

Goodliffe & Manny - Both did well against Beck who was a handful. Manny in particular was excellent and composed on the ball. Neither shirked it and for two young pros, superb.

Smith - Really like the look of him. Can't knock Gordan but experience is massive and Smith took up excellent positions throughout. Doesn't offer as much as Gordan going forward but doesn't need to as much if we get the front 4 right.

Robinson - The odd sloppy moment but put an enormous shift in. Can't knock him.

Phipps - Extremely lucky to not be sent off for an elbow. His best performance for us though. Broke up play well and played the odd good pass when he had time.

McQueen - Good outlet. Still not the answer if I'm being honest over the whole season. But he took both goals excellently.

Balanta - Did his best work deeper today with some great passes. Struggled a bit at times in the final third. Gets a free pass today.

Munns - Quite liked him coming in off the left. Looks a positive interchanging partership with Balanta. Must play every week. Our best technician bar none.

Adeloye - Honest, hard-working and our best striker currently at the club. Very unlucky with a header and that Lamar Reynolds couldn't put it on a sixpence for him at the end. Just needs a bit more confidence in front of goal.

Determination to win this game by our team today right from start was superb, team selection was surely best of the season, and there's me talking about needing to gel for a while, you would have thought the three new signings had been stars here for ages. Fair play to Harrogate for the way they tried to fight back second half especially after they got a goal back, talk about sticky bum stuff with all that resistance going on around Justham's goal and then behold all of a sudden our boy is up the other end with almost an empty net, end to end stuff and ref couldn't blow that whistle quick enough. And to top it all atmosphere in club after game especially when our friends from America walked in was a fantastic end to a fantastic day.

1300 home fans is unbelievable to see, especially if it was only season ticket holders getting the free drink(?) I stayed away from today following Tuesday but hopefully some floating fans seeing today’s performance will bring them back more often. Build on this now boys, a must win on Tuesday.

Also good to see that we have managed to see our the final 10 minutes of immense pressure. The Daggers of old would have crumbled once they pulled one back. Looks like this lot still have some fire in them afterall...
