Doug Loft joins from Shrewsbury on loan until the end of the season. Has previous played for us in 2009 and available for Saturday's game.

I think midfield is something that we needed strengthening so pleased with the signing.

Interested to see where he plays... Would imagine a Loan would be in with expectations on starting games. Only Mcqueen I could see dropping out from the first XI who has been strong in the last two months.

On the face of things this is a decent signing. Probably the only area we needed some strengthening in. However I hate to piss on the parade, but now we have a solid base of around 23 we should be looking to cut heads going forward.

Robinsons injury probably showed we needed some more bodies for centre midfield. A guy with about 300 league appearances is certainly the sort of body we needed. His wikipedia suggests that this loan takes him to the end of his contract so might be someone sticking around for a while. Shrews forum suggests that he just never settled at the club and not that he was a useless player so might be a massive coup to get him.

I remember him from before, we had him on loan 2009-2010. He’s been about. Certainly good enough.

I was thinking about Loft the other day when considering players who never really shone here but have had decent careers. He was solid but unspectacular from what I remember. Probably the type of player we need.

Glad to have Doug back at the club and definitely a boost to the squad.

I might be going crazy but didnt he have crossed words in the car park, with a couple of nob head supporters, the last time his loan deal ended?

I remember he was involved in a well reported training ground incident a couple of years back when a team mate bashed him up.
