So here we go again, the owner and manager have confirmed play offs is the aim this season so expecting a win tomorrow but knowing us it wont be so easy. Know nothing about Woking to be honest only Tarpey who is very good a finishing, so keep it tight and we should get a 1-0.

Woking haven't done nearly enough in the transfer market yet to be anything other than bottom third of the table.

I expect us to be quite disjointed tomorrow though, whereas Woking have a more settled side I believe.

On paper I'd expect us to beat them but wouldn't be surprised to see us lose 1 nil.

Has there ever been a 'lifting' of a daggers squad so much as what we eagerly await to witness starting tomorrow? What getting on for ten new players plus grabbing Manny and Will full time, top stuff, surely were going to make an impression at last? If this don't put more souls through the turnstiles what will? Should be a great game to kick off the season, good luck lads, were be with you all the way, put those penalties away!

Basically a new team so let’s not get on anyone’s back, it’s going to take a few games to reach peak fitness so let’s bear that in mind as we get behind them 100%. Encouragement and support!

Surely it's going to take pretty much a brand new team 5 or 6 games to get into the swing of things?

After last season - particularly the first half - I'd welcome us actually being a competitive team, trying to score a few goals. Anything else, despite massive over-excitement from the American owners, would be a bonus.

That said, c'mon you Daggers!! :thumbu:

Probably the least inspiring opening game I think I’ve ever seen.
Gave up through boredom with 10 minutes to go.

Utterly confused by the idea that we need more goals from midfield so have no central midfield let trying to get anywhere near their area.

Quite a few very average looking players in that squad.
Thought Eleferiou looked like a proper right back though.

Diarra at the back for them is miles better than Onariase, one of the most overrated players we’ve had for a while.

Agree with most of that Adrian. However, don’t understand the criticism of Manny. Thought he had a good game and Diarra was flattened by marking Quigley the whole game.

All the stories about Quigley proved true. Slow, bad touch, no presence. If the owners don’t want to embraced by their promotion pledge, we need to be looking at another striker very quickly.

Pathetic. Woking are a part-time, newly-promoted team with the lowest budget in the league - they weren't really made to work for the three points. Baffling lineup, leaving out three of pre-seasons top performers in Grant, Dobson and Luque, two of which we paid money for. For a manager who loves to defend, Taylor's teams really don't seem to be able to defend well and both goals were tap-ins following a simple set-piece not being cleared.

Eleftheriou and Balanta are the only ones who deserve any credit, rest were poor in all honesty.

I've read a lot of 'don't jump on them yet' and 'be positive' comments on different platforms over the last 2-3 weeks. However, our fanbase knows a good player from a shit one. It doesn't take long to watch someone and know whether they'll come good or not. Joe Quigley is not going to come good. Everybody saw full well today why supporters of other clubs have been on his back for all of his career. He has no heart about his game and he can't finish for shit. The players around him weren't particularly good either today but if your target man isn't good enough, it will most often than not full apart in the final third. Wilkinson up there today would have not let Parry or Diarra settle for a second. Quigley doesn't have the same range of movements. It's very basic back to goal play and he gets bullied.

However, the buck has to stop with the manager. In what mind was putting Quigley up front against two giants the right tactic? Anybody with half a football brain could see that neither centre back had legs and the right play was to put the ball in behind them and down their sides. But that sums up Peter Taylor doesn't it. The ultimate safety first manager. He set that team up today not to lose rather than to win and got exactly what he deserved. A CB at LB because he was scared of their height from set pieces. A safety first left winger cum left back in front of him. Them two selections basically nulified that side as an attacking option for 45 minutes. Therefore, everything had to go down the right. Fair play to the new RB who wasn't shy upon getting forward. He had a few nice moments with Balanta and McQueen but really that first half was screaming out for Reece Grant's movement and a bit of unpredictability from Luque. Safety first manager though, who by the way, we will never achieve anything under. Until the dinosaur goes, we could sign anybody and it'd be the same old problems because of the way in which he sets up the team to not get beat rather than to dominate and overwhelm.

Taylor out.

Exactly !!

The yanks need to thank him for last season and let him and Harris go back to Jurassic park with their tedious dinosaur tactics. They could drop quigley off at the job centre on their way.

Taylor out.
And he can’t take his vast and expensive coaching staff with him.

Problem we have is the Americans are only here every other month and get fed bollocks by a man who said Burnett was the man for the job. Nothing will ever change.

Hearing the Manager scream 'gooo dooowwwnnn' at the top of his voice to Quigley after the 34th time he was beaten by Parry in a one in one them simply stopped running and threw his hands in the air summed up the day for me... utterly baffled after making an attempt this summer to watch the pre-season games to make any sense of the starting XI when we're at home...

Some of the 'performances' were like we were coming off the back of 4 games in ten days with an injury hit squad

Kane Ferdinand ran rings round the midfield and scored FFS
