According to the official website, the largest transfer fee we paid to date STILL remains the £15,000 handed over to Purfleet in 1998 for Paul Cobb.

When you think of some of the money bandied around these days - at all levels - it's remarkable to think this record hasn't been smashed ........ several times.

In recent years the only players I recall us actually paying for were McCrory (£10,000) & Edmans (£6,000), may have been others though? Yeah it is strange, but then I guess there's plenty of good enough players available on frees these days that we can pick up

Glen Southam's fee was officially "undisclosed" but was rumoured to be £20k and would've usurped Cobby's.

Didn't we pay something like 6k for Heffer? Something nagging in the back of my head said we paid a fee for Jake Leberl too?

In the wonderful online world of Football Manager, if you sign a Daggers player for a decent fee it tells you that you have broken the transfer record fee which was last set in May 2004 when Southam was sold for £20k... this may obviously be completely fictional

I'd imagine that the football manager info is faultless ;)

That only changed recently. It always used to be Cobb on FM.

I once bought a player for Daggers for £8m on my way to bottling the champions league positions with 2 games left to finish 5th. It was 2036, a great year for Daggers fans to look forward to...and Marvin Morgan was Arsenal manager.

Some of my better work is achieved by just being quiet.

I do self censor, caught myself writing a long winded Lee Wilson-esque type essay which A....Nobody would read and B....Was total bollux.
