Outside the ground for the film studios. Wonder if there are any extras over there who fancy a gig sitting on the bench, budget permitting.

Not to us but was mentioned on here recently Frank Nouble has signed for Torquay United not really a big miss I reckon although we are stretching the personal finely, seems more of a target man than putting the ball away but should imagine could go straight into their side against us, oops just seen it on the other thread!

Stevens interview says he wants to give the ones at the club a try. Basically what he means is he's been giving no money to get any one else so make do with what you have already.

Not necessarily. I think it's ok to give the current squad a chance, I mean there's only 8-10 games left, so why go out and sign someone for the sake of it.
For me the recent playervdeoartutes sllows Ben an opportunity to build kitty from wages saved and the undisclosed fees for Walker n Morias.
He still has an option to bring in 1-2 backroom staff, with Gritt gone, another saving in wages.

Mcmahon and his team's contracts would needs to be paid up for the next year, probably looking at £150k minimum, I wouldn't conclude Strevs would get those fee's obtained to spend on the squad next season.

The summer will be very interesting, will Strevens be given the luxury afforded to Mcmahon?

No one knows the exact detail of the mutual agreement between club and McMahon. Let's not go there and speculate.

He was sacked and will need paying off in either a lump sum early or continues to be on pay roll for another year. Nothing mutual about being told you’re fired but his contract will need paying, no doubt the reason the held of for so long as it’s an expensive layout. Mutual was just a nice way of putting it on the press release.

"Mutual" in "mutual consent" basically means an agreement between the parties that the employer may dismiss the employee. My wife had to consent to being dismissed in order to receive a severance payment some years ago. It basically means a deal has been struck.

Yes, a deal but none of us Digger know the exact nature of that deal.

Hang on whatever anybody thoughts on McMahon we're one thing is beyond dispute. He was told that a playoff place was the aim and must have been given the resources to acheive it

With 3 months left to go he was told that Players were being moved on and was clear he would not get any money to replace them. At that time it was still possiable for us to sneak into play offs and the target set for him to reach would could still have been met.

Is it not a case in this scenario that he could have reached the conclusion that his post had became intenable and did resign and was not sacked.

Don't forget what ever terms he accepted the first 30k is tax free ,where his salary was subjected to a hefty tax charge , so this nonsense of having to pay him his salary i think would not be the case as it is neither in his or the Clubs interest.

No doubt the sudden collapse in the wage hill for nearly four months would meet the settlement agreed.

Sadly it is not only the former Manager who has been betrayed by the board, haven't the fans who bought into it also been ?

Season tickets were promoted on this basis and with 1/4 season left and the target still achievable we saw the squad that we obviously thought was good enough get decimated

Exactly this, Sussex. Season ticket holders have been shafted this season and our loyalty exploited by the club. And it will be again in a few weeks when the prices go up and we’re sold the same fantasy of play offs with even less investment incoming.

There were perhaps half a dozen shouting Thompson out and it didn’t last long, it’s similar to the same half a dozen on this forum always having a dig at him, if a change is needed (and it is) there has to be more of an organised protest, season ticket sales have to be the biggest signal to the owners, let’s face it if we buy another season ticket we will miss a lot of matches due to being freezing cold pisses off with results next winter so by buying in advance isn’t worth the hassle.

Any shouting or further protests against Thommo has to be in the presence of our owners. Does anyone know if they're over before the end of the season?
