Would have had him odds on to go to Ebbsfleet this week so quite shocked he’s ended up there. And despite the fact that I don’t think he deserves an NL job, this still feels like another example of non-league football getting sillier and sillier.

He is taking over at a team who are six points clear at the top of their league with a game in hand. In fact they have only lost once in the league all season. I would say they everything has been left in place for him to almost sit back, win the league and just concentrate on how he could strengthen the team in the summer. It would seem ideal circumstances for every manager coming into a new club and this is very rarely the case.

We will be seeing him next season at this rate, the fact a player turned down a contract to sign for Hornchurch this season says where our finances are this year and the job Ben is doing should not be see as a poor one with very limited funds for a full time side at this level.

Saunders was offered same money just a longer deal so decided to take it. Wasnt a paycut, but just a shorter deal.

Saw Hornchurch play Billericay a couple of weeks ago. Saunders was on the bench but didn't get a game.

Or even Matty Saunders doing very well as Maynards assistant recently given the Notts County hot seat. Saw him score a cracker of a free kick against Barnet that won the game for us just before Xmas 2012 memory wouldn't leave me on that as my daggers baptism, back on the terraces with real working class fans and over 2.000 gate, Super Wayne in the hot seat, and the year Northampton Town done us a massive favour and put Barnet down second from bottom, we third on exact points 51, how close was that? What a relief that day in the club bar! Then even finishing higher than Pompey following season a grand 9th, tough times but atmosphere around games was far better.
