..... Yet the previous week, when Shrewsbury went down to 10 men, Burnett said that they had the advantage of being a man down.... The week later when we went down to 10 men against Southport, he said the complete opposite, and said how we bossed the game up until we went down to 10, and then they had the advantage of having an extra man.... very contrary!!

Agree there is no guarantee of anything in sport, but to claim that you are at a disadvantage having an extra man on the field is disingenuous in the extreme. In football the theory of playing against ten is pretty simple, keep posession and make the pitch big.

For a lot of the season we also could have said that going in front was a disadvantage as we seemed to have an uncanny ability to chuck away a lead (which resurfaced against Burton recently). Again, totally disingenuous as actually the whole point of the game is to score more than your opponent and therefore at some point you have to take the lead to do so.

The problem is/was we couldn't defend once the opposition had nothing to lose and "went for it", not anything more complex than that. Partially solved by benching Brian Saah.
