New season starts in 3 weeks – Was at the ground yesterday & very surprised to see the slow rate of progress on the new clubhouse extension / club shop taking into account the steel framework has been up & bolted in place since mid-June close on a month now.

Heard the same tonight from a Sunday night regular attendee. Last I heard was a manhole problem within the foyer. Would assume a problem with drainage still or extra work needed and negotiations come to a standstill.

Steve Thompson gave an update on the building work in his interview on 17th June & said the work was only a week – 10 days behind because of the drain & other minor setbacks & went on to say he had spoken to the builders who was confident everything will be ready for the start of season!!

I would be astounded if this was ready in time, given it's very much still just a steel shell with a few wooden beams for the roof to go on.

Without knowing the finer details, it looks from the outside as though the building firm we've employed on this project are royally taking the piss

What’s the name of the builder?
Doubt if it’s Chigwell Construction as that would make too much sense

Bump on this thread.

I heard on Saturday that its now expected the (apparently tiny) new club shop is not going to be completed and open until around Christmas.

A bit different to the "3 weeks" promised at the Fans Forum on 2nd August.

What's the saying? Pay peanuts .........

I heard two weeks from today. If it's a Dagenham two weeks then Christmas is about right.

It’s no big deal is it?
We nearly didn’t have a club at all and the new people clearly are sticking money in and you’re all moaning still. :banghead:
