Brilliant signing, shows a significant statement of intent from the board and the management.
How many more do we need now? A defender/ wing back or two?

Depends if we can find homes for some of the others on the books. Assuming nobody leaves, we probably need a specialist left back and another centre back.
Daryl said we needed about 7, but I think that relies on departures. We currently have 19 and I doubt he'll want much more than that on permanent contracts.
If Dobson, Grant etc leave we can look to bring in another winger and another striker.

Fantastic signing. What a statement of intent from us.
I do think we need to look at getting someone to put a cross in to him be it winger or wing back. As much as Saunders has the potential to be...well the new Saunders, Isthmian to Conference is quite a jump and we need a backup if he doesn't immediately settle to the league (then again Fejiri and Whitely did from Hendon and Enfield so I don't see why not).
Only positions we have no one is left back now Gordon is gone and cover for right back as only Elefthriou plays there I believe.

One option is that he plays wingbacks, which would give us a starting xi already. Ideally though I'd like a better option on the left side, not sure what Daryl has in mind.
Cover or a more attacking option on the right could be Saunders if he can be coached into good defensive habits.

Really like the sound of Deering potentially playing just in behind Balanta and McCallum. Could be very decent.

Yep reasons to be pleased with this signing for certain.
Not even close to tempted suggesting we will piss the league though. I'm sure Salford thought that but they had to get into a play off lottery to secure it.
That said, it's a super opportunity this season. Teams will be cutting their cloth accordingly and potentially unable to sign the top players (unless the reality is clubs are still able to sign the best players but on lower than usual salaries.)
Very pleased but more so grateful of the position we are in.

Very exciting signing! Great to see our USA friends are backing us to the hilt at the current time.

That’s a more than worthy replacement for Connor Wilkinson , absolutely delighted with this signing as I really did think McCallum would of been heading to a side in league 2! Ok Granted it doesn’t mean we are certs for promotion all of a sudden as we still need another 3-4 players in my opinion to mount a real serious Title challenge next season, but if gives us a blooming good chance to compete for the play off places now.
Not been this excited for a new signing since we signed Balanta from Boreham Wood!!
Also I’m late to to the party here but I had no idea Solihull Moors had signed Adam Rooney from Salford, so it seems they have an able replacement themselves.

The signing of Paul McCallum is an emphatic statement of intent.
I've written about the importance of a proven goalscorer and how he will drastically bolster the quality of our squad.

This is a very very exciting signing the more I think about it. Not just because of who McCallum is, but what it means about our attitude going forward.
Whilst we need maybe 1/2 starting quality defenders in our squad, we also need to think about depth. If the league is going to run from Oct-May(?) then we can’t rely on Balanta and McCallum to start every week with that congestion of fixtures. Hopefully we can ditch Grant & Quigley and bring in better backups. But if not, we could still struggle next year if they don’t step it up massively, as they will have to be called upon more than we would like. Same for Luque and Dobson.

You sure you see the money being splashed around in this League.DevonDagger wrote: ↑Fri Aug 07, 2020 7:15 pm Yep reasons to be pleased with this signing for certain.

Us Notts County Stockport ,Stevenage , Hartlepool now Solihull all been busy.
This is going to be a better League then the last two and we are seeing the fallout of the EFL wage cap.
Great signing no doubt but with his wages hope we are not putting our eggs in one basket. Three years as well .
For God sake keep him away from Dr Shipman
