Season So Far.
So we are about one third through the league campaign. Seven victories five defeats and a couple of draws. Sitting in 8th position and two points of a play off berth. If I’m honest if have taken that before the first game. It’s so frustrating though that you feel with some strong additions in defenc...

Re: Chesterfield (H)
Surely we must see the arrival of new defenders this week, it’s unfortunate that an injury has made this more important than it already was. Loan options from the EFL must be possible at this stage of the season. It’s critical we cement ourselves in the play off spots. Going forward we are sound. Su...

Re: Chesterfield (H)
This game sums up the season in 90 minutes for me. In 14 games we have conceded in 12 of them. Score plenty but we do not have the game management needed to win games by narrow margins and our defence is not strong enough. We played very well in patches today then collapsed when the pressure came. A...

Re: Halifax (A)
Agreed. Despite it being clear that the squad was too thin and let’s be honest it’s fine saying we are going quality over quantity but for that to work at any club you need 12 or 13 that are among the best in their positions in the NL and no injuries, the former is an interesting debate the latter v...

I wondered if we might hear of new players this week with it being FA Cup week and so a break from the NL. I was hoping it would be a defender or two, surely loan options are out there if our budget is tight. However nothing at all thus far so it seems we are to carry on regardless. It certainly mak...

Time to bounce back. Altrincham deserved a draw over the duration of the game when they upped the intensity and caught us out but it was defensive errors that cost us again. Woking had all the 50/50 decisions on Tuesday and made the most of it. Our team is decent this season and offensively we are d...

Re: Altrincham
A huge disappointment and harsh today not to get anything from the game. Defensive frailties again and this time there was no way of retrieving the situation. Going forward this team are outstanding. Defence really needs sorting out and maybe that’s only possible with new personnel. We are still rig...

Altrincham
Another tough test to come on Saturday. Altrincham come to Victoria Road in decent form too so again we will have to get to our best level to take care of them. Jones being back is great and makes you feel like the back 3 have cover. The team at times going forward seem to have so many routes to goa...

Re: Solihull (H)
It’s going to be an exciting season that’s a certainty! Going forward we are unplayable at times, and have the best centre forward in the division by miles. That was the best performance by a Dagenham centre forward for many years. Around him we have pace, skill, and finishers. Two negatives that ar...

Solihull
So we return to Victoria Road and welcome Solihull on Saturday. We need to get back on the 3pts bike straight away having been hard done by not to get at least a point last Saturday. In recent times Solihull have been a physical side but I’ve no doubt if we get our passing game going early and score...

Re: Wrexham our biggest test?
Small margins today with the draw probably fair but given the money spent did they look likely to win the division, I think not. We have two home games on the trot so very easy to put right today. Chesterfields fixtures have been pretty kind so far and they have tough games to follow. The early goal...

Re: Weymouth (H)
Three more valuable points and our best start to a season for many years. It’s probably the best time to try and get in a proven central defender looking to go up, it must be part of the regular discussions with the owners surely! Wrexham have tried to throw too many in at once and are not the bigge...

Squad Size
I have to say whilst I appreciate he needs games why has Aaron Blair gone out on loan? Our squad is already stretched and this lad is a real prospect that could learn playing for us not Cheshunt. For me this is a very odd decision in the circumstances. It could be argued that now is the time to bols...

Re: King's Lynn
Without doubt a game we would have lost in the past. The first half was easily the worst 45 minutes this season. Once Weston came on we looked totally different, again! With Rance and hopefully Sagaf and Jones ready to play soon the team looks solid. Let’s get on the front foot boys Tuesday and take...
