Just wanted to post some comments on things that happened last night on and off the pitch.

Did anyone spot the new scoreboard unable to run a timer beyond 59mins 59seconds. Found that quite amusing. NOT sure about where they've put it and I do hope it's not the permanent spot. Couldn't really see it from the sieve (left-hand side). Could anyone read the subtitles on the vid at half-time?

The stewarding after the collapse of the fella in the sieve was worrying. None seem to have a clue what to do. The doc strolled around the pitch perimeter and the fella could have died but the urgency was.....well non existant. So our stewards have first aid training?

On the pitch.....that was an awful first half. Smith taken off and replaced by Wright. But why wasn't Phipps Colin on instead? Beggars belief why Taylor plays Wright ahead of Phipps. Phipps played a part in our good run before Xmas so would put him back in the team. Second half only kicked in when 3-0 down. I thought the boys played well last 30 mins. The key for next season is the midfield. We need quality in the middle.
I understand we have Clark, Gordon, Phipps, McQueen, Balanta and Wilkinson contracted next season. Need to add Justham and maybe Munns n Robinson but the rest can go imo.from loaned I'd only sign Goodliffe.
Now for Taylor. No news on a contract extension, you'd think if he's the choice for next season they'd offer a new contract by now. IMO he's not here next year. Any thoughts

Was surprised when the scoreboard broke, but was it ever in any doubt that it would break immediately?

I like Taylor and have a lot of respect for him and his reasons for taking this job. But the fact is that he just isn’t good enough. I hope he guides us to safety and then at the end of the season we can just amicably call time on things. There is definitely better and hungrier our there.

As for the bloke in the sieve- the stewards may be First Aid trained but they probably have never had any experience in using it in situations like this. Now this isn’t an excuse but IMO it’s an inherent problem with casual First Aid training. Some people go so long without needing to use it that they don’t have the courage to step up and use what they know when the pressure is on! Hopefully the man is now ok and the stewards will be better off with the experience if there is a next time.

I don’t know why people are so critical of stewards. They are there in the main to stop people going on the pitch ,separating opposing fans , throwing out imbeciles and telling people where the toilets are. They aren’t fully trained paramedics and from what I saw last night they tried to deal with the situation as best they could.

I’m not going to talk about the game we all know it was f#king shite.
I’m not sure that digging out the stewards on here about the medical emergency is the correct thing, I doubt if a general first aider would be able to help if as previously said on another thread that the poor bloke had a stroke, keeping him comfortable until the paramedics arrived was the best way to go even if it was a heart problem you have to ask “where is the nearest defibrillator” is there one at the club? Also I am under the impression that there is usually a medic or first aid presence at every game ( I could be wrong but I know it used to be the case) Perhaps Mr safety could clarify this! And I’m not talking about the team doctor.

I wasn’t at the game last night.

I hope the supporter is okay and already on the way to a swift recovery.

As a first aider/first response/paramedic you are taught not to run to someone injured as you need to arrive at them not out of breath and fully able to function.

Score Board........to bright, to low. will interfere with play. Like to know what all the players and officials thought. The game--- Dover dominated the match.

Whatever we say about our team should think nearly everyone present last night would say that Dover were really up 4 it and getting a win and just maybe before the goal tally started to rise for them if that Balanta chance had succeeded we could have started to take more control. I thought we just sat to deep and after the first goal went in we just seemed to lose the momentum, and only seemed to pick it up after Will Wright's goal. Desperately unlucky not to get a second, what did we have to do? Kandi's effort and their goalie just slinging himself to his left and blocking that thunderous shot on his line, it seemed one after the other, a few of us were mentioning 'lets do a Scunthorpe' in the TBS but just didn't think we had enough gas or luck to go that far. What I do know though many saying in the club before kick off JUST a couple of wins 'll do it, but with the likes of Chesterfield, Fylde, Barrow and Eastleigh coming up WE AINT OUT OF IT by far and deep down its getting a little worrying, knowing Dagenham though going to the likes of a super smart stadiums like the Proact Saturday we do have a nice habit of raising our game on the day, so let's hope for a good battle by our boys and take a good following.
