So we are about one third through the league campaign. Seven victories five defeats and a couple of draws. Sitting in 8th position and two points of a play off berth. If I’m honest if have taken that before the first game. It’s so frustrating though that you feel with some strong additions in defence this team could go mighty close. Too light in numbers and too lightweight in defence are holding us back. Set piece vulnerability remains. Are changes and additions not happening because of budget or something else? Given our good start and our attacking threat it would be such a shame if we fall short this season, the ability to win like Salford did last night are the type of games that send teams to the top of the table. They posed little threat and we’re bang average for an EFL team but scored the now inevitable early goal and then defended it well. It’s there for us this season but defensive changes are needed, just look at the number of clean sheets we have…

League's top scorers but one of the lowest amounts of clean sheets recorded - two telling statistics and unfortunately the latter is working against the former.
8th is probably about right. We're a decent footballing team but our formula of simply outscoring teams was always going to be short-lived.

Wrexham and Stockport will soon overtake us so we will be down to 10th. We now have on paper three winnable games one away and two at home before a couple of tough ones, we need to win all three and keep some clean sheets anything less and we will be left chasing teams we’re playing.
I thought the summer dealings were very poor defensively and there was always a question over Walkers fitness with his issues at Barnet last season. You also have to question the resigning of Phipps, good lad but wrong decision.
The new contract offer for the manager was a bit premature, I would have waited until at least half way through before jumping in the deep end as 3 good months don’t ar perform 6 terrible months. Our form is terrible and needs to be turned around in the next three or it will be another wasted season and the manager can only look at his signings as the real issue. From the outside the budget seems to have been squeezed, can’t blame the manager too much of that’s the case as the money be thrown about at this level is beyond crazy.
I think we will just miss out on a play off spot unless we sign a very good middle centre back.

Monday showed us were we are at. A very talented first 16 , saw that with the squad that started at STOCKPORT . Even then we have the next wonder kid
on the bench that only days later is loaned out.
Our squad consisted of only 16 Monday and that again included a player who was only on the bench for that reason.
This is a brutal league where no inch is given, our style of play lends itself to the so called heavy challange and is bound to lead to injuries. The quality over quantity is the sole reason for our sudden loss of form after a very promising start. It however bodes well that despite the numbers being g found out we are at least a match in every game for our opponents just that lack of quality in vital areas has cost us and at seasons end May be the diffrenceof either not reaching playoffs but more importantly that top five finish that makes the playoffs far easier.
Think the Playoffs are still more then achievable and if we have the numbers avaliable the other 5 involved will want to avoid Dagenham at all costs
