Ok we're not the richest club in this league as our gates would show, but every player that rocks up at the club wants paying. They're certainly not doing it for nothing. We probably have at least 10 ( maybe more) midfielders, all of which collect a wage and yet we haven't 1 recognised forward. Surely five or so midfielders equates to one centre forwards wages, does it not?
Ok he won't be a Haaland but surely there must be someone from a lower league than ours who's on less money that can come in and do a job in that position.
Are our scouts even looking or are they solely fixated on midfielders/goalkeepers.
Morias for all his endeavours is not a forward, he wasn't last time out and he still isn't which means any midfielder has to beat four or five defenders to reach the oppositions box. Hence we've picked injuries and are already on the back foot once again.
Stop trying to put square pegs in round holes Ben, it simply doesn't work.

I thought Umerah was meant to be our focal point but despite getting minutes at the back of pre season he's still yet to start.
We're trying to shoehorn Morias into the side presumably in the hope that minutes will get him fit. To my mind he needs a weight cut and a couple of weeks in the gym before he thinks about playing any more national league games.
Hill is our only capable and natural left winger and he's not fit. Dion same on the right and is apparently now injured. None of the midfield are capable of beating anyone and finding a key pass. Rendall and Ling on his wrong foot are never going to find you a decent cross. The entire side is set up to be bereft of goals.
I never really expected us to be above mid table when I looked at the squad on paper. A lot of good players in isolation but no balance.

Akinola was the only bright spot yesterday, thought he did well when he came on, Junior needs to get fit and lose some weight if he is ever going to find any form and cause a threat to any opposition, against York we never clicked as a team, lots of effort but didn’t look like we had a game plan, couldn’t have been any different from last Monday at sarfend, but overall York looked like they wanted it and deserved the win
I’m not calling for Strevs’ head as it stands, but this is a preposterous statement. Did you forget what happened from around October - Christmas Day last season? He is lucky that the last owners were idiots and he is still here.Auntie Merge wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 9:28 am It's a shame that people are already turning on Strevs.
Strevs has to take a massive portion of the blame, but also so do the players. How has Morias deemed it acceptable to turn up to the season so unfit? And please don’t think he was injured for Rochdale. He was at some Christian worship festival. A professional team allowed that, by the way. Standards at this club are well below par and have been for some time.

STRIKING SUBS SINK STREVENS' SIDE
A thoroughly miserable afternoon at Victoria Road, with the damage again done late on as the same old habits continue to surface, and exacerbated by a potential injury to sole creative spark Dion Pereira.
