You surprise me Mark in all honesty. Proper ground I think. Yes, the facilities are dire, but if I am going out for dinner or to be treated well I go to a restaurant, not to League Two football.
One of the only grounds we play at which still has an atmosphere. We always have a good following and it was one of the only grounds where our support managers to make any noise.
Like someone else said, Southend will always be quite a special place to me as well and I think a lot of people from the East End and Dagenham and Romford areas. I am not old enough to remember the days that person is talking about, but as a kid, going down there on a Sunday afternoon in whatever weather, Peter Pans playground, the pier, the smell of the donuts. OK, it's not Vegas but I like the place.
Although I like the fact we have a bit of a rivalry with them, I have never got the abusive chants about the place being a dump (unless people are being ironic which would surprise me) and I haver never got why people wish the Club or the place any ill.
Each to their own, but am very much looking forward to the 28th.
