Aldershot Home Final game of the season

Aldershot won tonight, meaning their game on Saturday is a must win for them.

Obviously Halifax can overtake them, by winning both their games, but Saturday is a must win for the Shots.

Thank god we aren’t caught up in the relegation battle, where any computation can see any one of 5 teams relegated.

Aldershot should bring a few away fans, hopefully be a decent game.

Delighted for us to be safe before it!

Halifax 2 Oldham 2 tonight.

Aldershot have it all to play for.

Interesting end to the season - 3 teams fighting for the last playoff spot
5 teams fighting against relegation.

Aldershot need to beat us tomorrow and hope that Halifax don't win to get into the play-offs. In view of this tickets are selling very well in the away end so Aldershot will bring a good following,
I'm hoping from our point of view we can put on a decent showing and finish the season with a win.

Just looking at the table, if Aldershot drew with us, as long as Halifax get nothing from their game would be enough for them to get into the playoffs. A lot of pressure on them!

If both Halifax and Aldershot lose and Southend win, Southend will qualify for the playoffs on goal difference.

Well that was a good game for any neutral watching today, but another frustrating one for Daggers as the ref was once again unbelievably s#it, the penalty decision appeared very harsh! But overall a good performance and unlucky not to finish with all three points. But the referee running off down the tunnel as he blew the final whistle left everyone aghast, the players didn’t even realise the game was over did they?

Bit of an amazing day, really hope we never see that ref again. Spent what must be nearly ten minutes on lectures to coaches & players a never ending trail of yellow cards and sure dented the flow of the game but bizzarely amongst all that tension we got a game with a hatful of mostly good goals and finished up with the most amazing departure of a Ref to a game ever (Was he touching cloth?) or worried about his decision making on the game and the fall of the Shots at his 'exit end'. All in all far from a great season but really praise to our lads how well since about February they have shown commitment and heart on wearing the shirt and striding to win a game! Carry that onto next season and hold on to most of the squad were be up there!

I heard the assessor thought the ref was incompetent, so hopefully we won’t see him again for some time.

If this is true, i wonder if we will appeal Ben’s red card? To my mind a manager has to do something very extreme to warrant a sending off and I’m not sure exactly what Ben did/said for this to happen.

To be honest I do hope we see that referee again. Yes he was incompetent, but at least we got some real comedy out of it in the end. With the rest of the incompetent officials we just have their crap decisions to enjoy.

Overall a really entertaining match, despite it being a draw it feels like we have gone out on a positive note. Big summer now, if we can keep Dion, Inih and Tav we have a strong core to the squad. If we can somehow keep Appiah-Forson then we probably win the league/trophy double…

Even if we do manage to keep Inih, Dion, Tav and KAF, the squad is light in areas before we are likely to see players leave.
We need another forward, someone younger, proven and is capable of 20+goals. Another winger/att midfielder, midfielder and left back.
I can't recall who's out of contract. Anyone?
