Potential Away draw against Hornchurch, depending on how they get on with their replay against Leiston tomorrow... No arguments with that draw.

Hopefully Leiston win that. Hornchurch is a bit of a boring draw for me. Play them almost every preseason and they have one of the worst grounds going. Not to forget that their squad of ex-Daggers will probably give us a tonking knowing our luck…

I agree that Hornchurch ground is one of the worse with the running track round the pitch, also as you say lots of ex daggers in their squad not to mention our ex manager who would be very pleased to turn us over. Despite all this, would be a local game so would much prefer a Hornchurch win tonight in the replay. I also hope that we take the FA cup seriously and put our strongest team out rather than put all our eggs in one basket trying just to getting into the playoffs.

A banana skin waiting to happen which I do hope not! They obviously did well to turn Hornchurch over so will think have nothing to lose when playing us.

I was really hoping for Leiston away before the draw was made. I went to Leiston Fc about a month ago on a Sunday afternoon to see a mate of mine Dagenham born Steve J Curtis who was playing there. Probably one of the south’s best guitarists who I hadn’t seen for about 20 years since I played on stage with him.
He now lives around the area and will be playing at the Friston Chequers that evening with his partner Greta. We’re driving there and have booked overnight accommodation.
I found the club to be really friendly and welcoming although that was in a non football situation. Very small clubhouse but tidy enough ground. Reminded me a bit of the old Thurrock ground now awaiting renovation by Grays Athletic.
No station at Leiston I think Saxmundham or Darsham via Ipswich both approximately 5/6 miles away then bus or cab.

There is a train line but it’s only to transport nuclear waste to and from the nearby power plant. Maybe they’ll do a football special
