I assume your weather folks will keep you updated but Hurricane Kirk is heading your way. It will be a tropical storm but that can still pack a punch as evidence by the 20 inches and more of rain in my area of the world.
It was tracking right through the Channel yesterday but is now tracking a bit south and on the northern coast of France.
The British Isles have had a few of these before so nothing terribly new but with warmer air, and the Atlantic is still very warm, there is going to be a lot more water in the air and that means more rain and potential for flooding.

Moving south into northern Spain and the Atlantic side of France. Seems to be weakening finally.
