Yes, should be interesting. However apart from Darren Currie who always seemed to do his best. Kevin Maher was always injured and Mark Bentley never lived up to his potential and was one of the worst players ever to put on our shirt. Cannot see all three lasting the course. For God's sake, let's hope we don't do our normal tomorrow and concede an early goal, as Southend will have a good crowd behind them to spur them on.
You what? Bentley was only here 4 months and he tore it up for the first 2.5 before he got his head turned by Southend.Blue Hoops wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 3:48 pm Yes, should be interesting. Bit strange that? Not sure exactly but is this Mahers first role as a Number 1 most would have thought Currie with good references from the Barnet job would have led the pack, but whatever this game cannot afford to be lost by our boys, four on a trot is unthinkable from a relatively good start, why? just a slight change in the team its frustrating that we've dropped the guard, no McCullum today it will be hard with 1200 Schrimpers roaring a deflated team on who certainly could go big on this game, and turn their season with this high fire derby.
Echo that - Bentley was pretty decent in the short time he was here.TomMc wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 7:03 pmYou what? Kevin Maher at his age was a pretty daft signing for us - but he's certainly a Southend legend. Seems like the kind of managerial appointment to keep the Shrimpers fans off the owners back for a few weeks..
