Harsh last gasp equaliser after they offered nothing, ref cost us that game with a good goal from Carroll first 10 mins and then sent him off after their player rolled about and they surrounded the ref, never a red justice two players jumping. Robbed by the ref in this one.
It now means that Andy will be out for three games in what was perhaps a poor decision by the referee.Diggerthedog wrote: Sat Sep 13, 2025 8:57 pm Harsh last gasp equaliser after they offered nothing, ref cost us that game with a good goal from Carroll first 10 mins and then sent him off after their player rolled about and they surrounded the ref, never a red justice two players jumping. Just hoping we win the replay.
I am so bored of not winning. I’m bored of hearing excuses. I’m bored of bad refs. I’m bored of the grass being the wrong length. I’m bored of watching a club a million miles away from the club I knew.
I don’t care who has to be sacked, it’s past time that this club starts being what made it great. So many of us fans deserve better than the last few years.

If we beat Bedford we have been drawn away at Spalding in 3rd qual round.

I wouldn’t mind us getting knocked out if we were going for the title, but we’re not, we’re in another relegation battle. Yet this time it’s also for the existence of our clublen wrote: Mon Sep 15, 2025 10:23 am Let's hope we can win the replay. I did notice however, that Hornchurch lost for the first time this season to bottom of the table National League North outfit Peterborough Sports, so anything can happen in the cup.
I hope you will be there tonight cheering the team on.Ally Fraser wrote: Mon Sep 15, 2025 2:59 pmI wouldn’t mind us getting knocked out if we were going for the title, but we’re not, we’re in another relegation battle. I suppose a win is a win but this was very uninspiring. We started the game well and scored early and should have scored at least three or four in the first half an hour. After that however, we seemed to sit back and invite Bedford to attack us.
We managed a win because the opposition were fairly ordinary but will come unstuck against better teams.
I still believe we need at least another three or four decent players to turn our season around.

Any idea why Kalambayi was sent off? Our disciplinary record is horrendous this season. Can't keep blaming the refs. Lee Bradbury needs to get a grip on this. Our squad is rubbish enough as it is without our better places being suspended. By the way, has there ever been a worse player than Rendall in the 33 years of the club. The bloke is a liability.
Broom Broom Broom - Let me hear you say Wayo - Wayo!
Could not agree more with the above 2 posts.
On top for 25 mins, then sat back.
Carroll should have scored on 20 mins to make it 2-0 and Hemminga was close just after.
But 2nd half we did nothing until Haigh came on late aswell.
Saw nothing in the sending off, but the nearside linesman and ref were atrocious.
Dieing going off at half time didn't help, middle of the pitch e are soooooo lightweight.

Got to be our lowest attendance for a league or cup game in the 21st Century
Despite the win this was one of the most dispiriting performances I've witnessed. After scoring a relatively flukey goal we defended desperately for most of the game with 11 men behind the ball sometimes just punting it as far away into no man's land as possible and this against Bedford Town! No obvious pattern of play, no composure, no real coherence. In short, a shambles and if we get anything against the likes of Dorking or Torquay, let alone Hornchurch it will be a minor miracle.
I have never been one to call for managerial change and this guy seems like a nice guy with, let's face it, a pretty good track record but things on and off the pitch must change soon or we are sleepwalking into footballing oblivion.

Firstly cannot believe the official attendance as all the seating seemed to be full and they had to allow at least another hundred to stand behind the goal so not sure what or how the attendance could be accurate or possibly calculated.
We have a player such as Andy Carroll up front you need a player striding up the wing producing crosses into the area that Andy can get on the end of but this was completely lacking.
We signed Ashley Hemmings to score goals but often he seems to play too deep or otherwise takes shots from thirty five yards out that go way over the bar. At the moment he does not look as though he is likely to score many goals.
We also desperately need someone with some driving force in midfield who can win the ball and also has the determination to run at defences and create something. At the moment teams seem to dominate possession and we seem to stand off and have no idea how to get the ball back.
I cannot see much progress until things are changed and improved.
