Archie Tamplin is a Dagger. Signed from Chelmsford, a young player with experience last season of playing in this division.

Please tell me he’s not related to the drug addled 7osser who tried to take us over a few years back!

He's Glenn Tamplin's son. During that takeover saga he was supposedly horrendously verbally abused in the ground (if you believe his dad anyway). A cracking signing on paper for us though and Chelmsford seem gutted to have lost him.

Always going to raise a few eyebrows given his surname, but he is a bloody good player for this level. He’s come out and addressed the elephant in the room and said judge him on his actions and not his surname, which is fair enough. The Tamplin saga was somehow 8/9 years ago and he would have been 15 years old. It’s not his cross to bear and he has said himself how that chapter of his life is behind him. Interpret that how you wish…

I’m excited to see what he does with us. Lee is doing a great job so far!

Someone on X/Twitter asked him if his dad would be coming to games.

And he replied ‘no, he won’t’

Let’s leave that part of the past behind us.

Been told he has nothing to do with his dad anymore and as others said and Archie himself said let’s judge him on the pitch. The tears from Chelmsford fans suggest with got a good one here.

Lee Allinson's squad is taking shape, however, we currently have only fourteen players contracted of which three are goalkeepers. We also seem to have a lot of midfield players. Not sure how the discussions are going with Oteh,Lawless and Haigh.
With his own players coming in this week it makes me wonder if Howes, Dieng and Marsh have any future here and are likely to be moved on.

I think a lot of our business is done but they announce one per day to keep the news rolling in over the quiet period.

Howes has almost certainly been told he can go if someone comes in, I imagine his agent is desperately trying to find him a starting spot somewhere. Ashmore has a good record but you do worry a little bit that injury might start creeping in at his age. Having said that, Howes seems pretty injury prone himself.

Smart move by the gaffer to name-drop Dieng and Marsh as good options in midfield in his recent interview. He knows he will struggle to find clubs to take them on their current salary and may need to keep them integrated with the squad. He seems to be big on building unity which would be a welcome change from the whole Bradbury/Gill debacle with PK, Wilson, Scott etc.

I'd be surprised if Oteh stays. I can't see him starting, and I would have thought National League clubs would take him as a bench option which is better for him than warming ours. Haigh I think will go to Woking but I would love to be proven wrong.

So right now we have these options

GK: Howes, Ashmore, Nightingale
RB: Lusala, Harrack
CB: Graham, Panter, Harrack
LB: -
CM: Tamplin, Marsh, Dieng, Harrack
AM: Beautyman
RW/LW: Crichlow
ST: Carroll, Leech

Still need starters for CB, LB, and out wide. Also need a quicker striker option, and cover in various positions.
