Do we know why? Friday night is a terrible time to play football. If this is going o be a regular occurence they can have my season ticket back now.

Agree to all of the above, it's VERY annoying. Gotta get across London now after a work day. They don't even say why.

Short notice changes are never ideal, but it also takes two sides to agree to the move. I can’t see many teams agreeing to this going forward, Farnham have another attention seeking owner so will love the apparent publicity of playing against us.

I agree with everyone that changing our game to a Friday evening doesn't seem a very good idea and also not putting a reason for doing so.

It’s a real shame it is the first league home game of the season too.
There is something really special about the first league home game kicking off at 3pm o a Saturday.

It’s August, so the weather is usually good but not too hot
It’s often a family day, because those not away on holiday bring the kids
Friends are pleased to see each other and have time to talk
There is an air of positivity
And at 2:59 pm its the best time of the season:
You sit on your seat with a huge air of expectation.
You’re still in all the cups
You believe your team is going to win every game 6-0
And none of your players are donkeys

Pure joy.

Plus Friday night games are not good for our Jewish supporters.
Friday night is the start of the sabbath and most Jewish families gather together and have a family meal. If I still lived in Redbridge, I’d be eating with family.
I was always brought up to believe that I never went out Friday night. Even though I am non-practicing and many years older, I still have a hesitancy about doing anything Friday night.
I managed to persuade one of my friends to buy a season ticket; I’m not sure how he will take to Friday night games given he had a similar upbringing to myself.

Agree with all the comments.
Not good for me as usually have commitments on Friday evenings (not with Auntie though (lol) )
Also my grandchildren won't be able to make it on Friday.
Must say that not being given a reason for the change has slightly dimmed my pre season excitement of the positive off the field changes that have been made.

Still no information about why this change was made which makes me curious and slightly suspicious. Grabowski must know and must have agreed to it. Rumour has it that Farnham asked for it for 'streaming purposes'. Why didn't we just tell them to get lost if so.

Agree, if the club had at least told us the reason why it had been changed, we might not agree with it, but at least we would know.
It all seems rather strange!

As far as I'm concerned and many others football at this level is all about watching your team play on a Saturday afternoon. If you look at our mid week games they are always a lot less attended. I haven't come across anyone yet who thinks our change of time for this game is anything other than a bad idea.
I hope John Grabowski looks at this forum and other social media sites and sees the strong feelings about firstly the change from a Saturday afternoon to a Friday evening and secondly for a reason not even stated.

The decisions made by John Grabowski and the club so far have been very positive but this is the first big mistake he has made. How can anyone justify moving the first game of the season to a Friday night? We are not in the Premier League so we don't have Sky Sports telling us what to do. We watch non-league football because it isn't corrupted by the TV companies. We had a massive day planned and now it's been ruined for absolutely no reason at all. My only fear with KSI being involved would be that we start trying to be too clever and make decisions based around stupid gimmicks. I'm not accusing anyone of doing that here because I don't know the facts (as nobody has been given a decent reason for this ridiculous kick off time) but it smacks of a cheap gimmick to me.

Probably trival but wondering if its to do with current heat daytimes? I suppose if its stays like this were be getting a fair few 'hydration breaks'? Also noticed Chelmsford (Mondays) and Farnborough (Wednesdays) are playing a fair few games midweek when at home, wonder if this is starting a trend especially as I believe West Ham if they are at home Saturday have sold over 40K Season tickets. Tranmere Rovers bygone days reguarly played home Friday nights to collar some Red and Blue support.

Wouldn't be supprised if we have a "hydration break"during the Friday night game.
Wheather it's an "official" break or one while either of the goalkeepers
are being treated for an "injury"

So what's the definitive reason why it's been changed? If it's a good reason surely we would have been old by now!
