For a club of our size has the benefit outweighed the cost? Probably not, unless Jones ends up making us a lot of money.
It's a shame for it to go, but we've done better out of picking up players from lower down clubs and giving them a go.
Ultimately, any players that are likely to go anywhere will end up at other academies, not ours anyway.

I think if you look at the stories about it this week there are a couple locally saying we've had Jones come through and Connors but from a financial point of views, Connors hasn't got to a level where had either a) become a league starter on a regular occasion or b) one on to sell for a profit to a higher placed league team.
I would like to think the manager would have been spoken to about this and would have said he's confident of getting quality first team players unearthed from non league therefore the finances of the Academy don't stack up.
