Exactly fifty places between the two sides. Zero excuses whatsoever, especially after last year.

I don’t think the Fa cup works like that because if so there wouldn’t be such a thing as giankilling. You have only got to look at our record over the years in beating teams from a higher division.

Let's hope we perform better than last year.
The least said about that the better.

Oh no, it most certainly doesn't, but there's a big gulf in class between Step 1 and 3 and the conditions for an upset are often set by unprofessionalism and/or complacency. A repeat of last year would be very damaging.

Great trip up the A12. Lovely little ground with a good clubhouse. Good to see plenty of Daggers supporters boosting the crowd to over 600 when it’s usually just over 100. Game was very competitive and Leiston gave a good account of themselves even if they are a couple of divisions below. At 1-1 I thought here we go again but after the equaliser we raised our play with the resultant explosion of goals in foul conditions. Well done guys.

A good win considering number of players not available, interesting who we get in next round but hopefully a home draw.

I cannot imagine such a lack of activity on this thread had we lost, do we not like winning?

I said before the game we needed to be ahead at half time then pull away late on... Real grit shown after they got back in to the game and the weather fell apart but we kept our heads and looked decent going forward again at the end.

After the 5-5 in the National League Cup it was the attack that was so dissapointing in the last league game, as we looked like we had no forward threat at all... Need to get the goals back in the next two Home games.

You answered your own question.

Felt so ominous at 1-1, even for moments at 1-0. So it’s a massive relief to see us exercise the spirit of Cup Ties Past and turn that into a comfortable victory for once. Hopefully a nice easy home draw coming our way tonight.

Really no that’s not the draw you want. Comfortably better than us without the allure of being a money spinning tie even if we do go out. But we beat Grimsby in the cup a few years ago who were much better than us, and came so close with Mansfield too. It’s not impossible. But it is the sort of tie that if we do pull off a win, it would have been a memorable day out for all involved.

Hopefully we have Rendall, Akinola and Hess back for it. Then they pick up a few injuries before then too

A tough draw, but having earned £9375 for winning at Leiston, the fund increases to £45000 for the winners of the Crewe game and £15000 for the losers. We go into the game as underdogs but with nothing to lose, any financial proceeds gained are an improvement on last season.

Akinola won’t be back until the new year at the earliest.
