I don't know if this is where the rumour started or how reliable this is but some evidence at least.

Naturally I hope the rumours aren't true, hopefully it's just talk.

Vast numbers in an away end on Saturday screaming abuse at our director of football instead of watching the game. Calling him a ***** over and over again and a ‘disgusting human being’ on here.

Because of a rumour on a Southend message board started by an account called ‘London Shrimper’.

It’s not a rumour anymore it’s all out in the open, the chanting was pathetic and unnecessary because James King is in reality a yes man for the real owners and has a job to do which involves slashing the wage bill.

A very sad day that Elliott is leaving especially so abruptly. He has been a brilliant goalkeeper for us and wish him well for the future. I do not understand the logic behind this sudden departure but hope more information will emerge. Very shocked at this sudden news.

What a disgusting way to part with a stalwart of the club! The owners should be ashamed of themselves BUT I wish every bit of luck and good fortune to El moving forward in his career.

Although Elliot makes it sound as if it’s mutual I read between the lines and pick up on a couple of points.. like “the team is going to need you” when asked about supporters, he’s a likeable man and I really wish him well (even if he goes to the pikeys) hopefully supporters will turn up in big numbers for his testimonial to show appreciation for all the time he’s been with us.

It seems very sudden as he only played for us on Tuesday.
