Anyway, in the important cup draw, here are the numbers that matter.
We’ve confirmed the ball numbers which will be used during the draw for the Quarter-Finals of the Essex Senior Cup, which will be broadcast by competition supporters, BBC Essex, tonight at around 5:30pm.
1 - Billericay Town
2 - Dagenham & Redbridge
3 - Brightlingsea Regent
4 - AFC Hornchurch
5 - Redbridge or Canvey Island
6 - Aveley
7 - Concord Rangers
8 - Thurrock

Despite the average performance last time out, surely the squad that played in the last round should be capable of beating any of these teams, even at their best... Have we won this competition in recent years?

Our squad is definitely good enough to win this. But hopefully we're drawn at home again, the non-league pitches around Christmas will be awful, like last season when we lost at Hornchurch..

Arnu this cup was one of the man comps not so long ago, I remember us destroying Southend in a semi once and it was a fantastic achievement. One day it will be the same again.

When your in conference south then playing the big boys (Southend,Colchester and now Dagenham) does give this cup some kudos.Lets face it though, the league clubs put out a reserve team and play the game as a warm up or training session. The little clubs do probably take it seriously like we once did but would we even mention winning it now ? I've been to these games, and the excitemnent of playing east Thurrock and Bowers and pitsea is etched in my mind forever but unless Wayne takes us down 2 divisions we'll never take this cup seriously ever again.

A good cup run can breed a winning mentality that can roll over into the league
Be good to get a decent turn out for this game

If nothing else we may be able to use a couple of games to get players like Doidge and Murphy scoring while also potentially easing Zavon back in to semi-competitive matches (assuming he doesn't just get kicked up in the air).
Also, on the basis of the last round, these games remind us why O'brien must be nowhere near the starting eleven of a competetive match again this season

USTFU !!
Still was worse than Burnett in his last 2 seasons fact !!
But to win the Essex pointless cup is hardly gonna fill the ground next season.
