One of the reasons Steve Thompson and Dave Bennett etc have not yet gone is because all some people do on here is criticise other supporters, rather than collaborate and act as a collective against a common cause.

By the way sometimes I type or write up what I'm going to post on here before I do. I don't think it's uncommon.

Actually the major reason Tommo and Bennett have not gone yet is they would leave a massive hole in the day to day runn8ing of the club (Tommo) and its finances (Bennett) that would see us in even more trouble than we are now. Whether you think most of what they do day to day is wrong or right, whether you think they have made a series of poor decisions over the last few years (which I do actually), they actually care massively about the Daggers.

As for writing stuff down, do you often do that then find when you look at the post some time later that you wrote the total opposite of what you meant to??

This is probably far more truthful than anyone wants to admit. I would like to understand who is waiting in the wings to do the job that Thompson does on the money he earns and with as much enthusiasm and passion for the club. I don't like Thompson as a person - I find him odious and yes he has made many mistakes but I haven't seen the succession plan. Any ideas?

Advertise for the position like a normal firm would whittle down the candidates and choose the best one. A better candidate would probably be cheaper and certainly more approachable.

There is a thin line about what is acceptable and not acceptable and you have crossed the line sunshine, Alzheimer's/dementia has recently overtaken heart disease as the biggest killing disease in this country and to make fun of it is beyond belief. A few years back a family member was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. That person!s wish was to remain at home and her children agreed to this. As a large family we all helped with care. To see the person as she was with Alzheimer's was heartbreaking especially as she was always the life and soul at family parties. banter is banter. Maybe but maybe not. What is Thompson on at the moment? A decent MD of any organisation would be wanting circa £150K pa. I'm no expert on running a football club but I do know a lot about senior level recruitment as that is my day job. My concern is that he probably does a lot of out of hours stuff that another candidate might not. Just being pragmatic about it.

I have to say that I find the whole business of wrongly stating that you voted for when you abstained very strange. You didn't state that you voted for reluctantly, you stated that to not vote for it would not bear thinking about.

Di Mike dash wood...... As a member I was at the meeting last night. The members were given a straight chose either to vote for or abstain. Tbh there was only one bid on the table and to not vote for it would not bear thinking about. Totally wrong to put the members in this position imo. Comments like the club is surviving on a month to month basis possible administration were used before the vote. I personally was disappointed with some of the members tbh.

Nope, you said you meant something else and typed it wrong, yet the whole of the post is heading towards you reluctantly voting for the motion as you had no alternative. Which was fine. If you believed the club was in a hole and needed investment, there was only one way to vote and I understand the reluctance totally, if I'd been a member I would have done the same TBH.

You didn't correct that over the following couple of weeks either even when challenged, it was only in November that you changed your mind and became one of the 11 brave abstainers. Now you claim that what you wrote, which was actually good English and totally justified your decision, was incorrect. You have since had attempts to blame this on old age, confusion, lack of familiarity with technology etc.

I am guessing that Alan doesn't believe that explanation any more than I do, hence him pushing you for an explanation of your position, but I won't put words in his mouth.

Given the above I posted a genuine link to an organisation that helps with Alzheimer's, which has many of the symptoms you are claiming caused you to do one thing, then write something completely different just a day later, and not realise that you had done that for a couple of weeks at least.

As you have pointed out several times, I have a tendency to resort to sarcasm, particularly when faced with someone spouting total bollocks. As I believe you are spouting absolute bollocks, this is what I did. If however your behaviour is due to you genuinely suffering from Alzheimer's I apologise for doing that, but am also happy I have pointed you somewhere that may be able to help you.

The thing is, you made a post the day following the meeting that was entirely inconsistent with the way you say you voted.

You stated that it was a simple error and you meant to say that you reluctantly abstained when you typed that you reluctantly voted for. Of itself, that's quite a stretch, but if you put it in the context of the rest of the post in which you said that you voted for, in particular where you stated that voting against did not bear thinking about, your explanation looks incredible.

You then responded to this thread lecturing everyone on what should be done this time round, so people are bound to recall your previous posts about voting.

This is the 3rd or 4th time how I voted at the egm has been brought up on different threads and the original thread subject has been lost. We all need to move on . The next 2to 3 months are crucial to our club and that's what we should all concentrate on surely? Finally Mike I get the impression that you are pals with the board particularly Bennett. I am firmly in the Bennett out camp. You abnd I have different views. Who is right or who is wrong only time will tell. At the club I am fortunate to be given information which I then share on here. It is very upsetting to be accused of making it up or lieu get. Time will be the judge whether I am right or wrong. Thompson is paid handsomely and can be replaced. Bennett cared so much he was holidaying in Florida when the most important meeting in the clubs history took place. Yes he pumps in money but its only a loan and is repaid in full.

The club at the end of the season need to go part time, the finances/gates prove this. Dover don't do to badly in this mode.

Correction in bold - and should also add saw it fit to give himself an approx. £5k pay rise recently despite the club's more than precarious position.
