Cureton really doesn't strike me as a manager. I might be wrong but his whole demeanour is of someone who is 39 going on 25. I'm not just talking about performances but in terms of appearance and the type of person he appears to be. Nothing wrong with that, he just seems more like 'one of the lads' than the guy leading the lads.

More than happy for him to combine his player duties with a coaching role.

Honestly, if Wayne does leave, I'd give it to Currie. I hate this notion that the assistants are judged on par with the manager. Still and Burnett turned out to be complete opposite ends of the spectrum. Yet, when you're working for a manager you work under their idea and philosophy. I imagine Currie to have similar ideas in how he wants to play to Wayne, yet that doesn't mean he'll implement them in the same way. Plus with a lot of out of contract players, if a lot do end up moving on, it's Currie's opportunity to bring in some of his own players and make his mark. I'd much rather have familiarity than take a risk with someone who doesn't really know our club.

Fair point Lee... And if we do lose too many players he can stick himself just in front of the back four

Yeah Id give it to Currie. As a side note...Football is probably the only management profession where "One of the lads" running it is more likely to be the case. You wouldn't want it in finance or banking but certainly when you are trying to gel together a bunch of working class lads in a football team Id say it was more than acceptable.Actually...cant think of many football managers who aren't/weren't "One of the lads".

Dont think Arsene Wengers particularly 'one of the lads' albeit at a higher level.

by its all good
Darren Currie and Micah Hyde passed their senior badges at the same time
Micah is also an impressive guy who I suspect will go places in management in future years

My brief flirtation came after Stevenage at home and nobody could defend that it was that spineless.

Think the reaction after Saturdays game highlighted that the Players even accepted that it was unforgivable and they had a score to settle.

Just to keep the debate going if Wayne does go who would you want to get the gig.

See Doug Livermore is living local in Romford.

I don't want wayne to go. Was just saying for you to stop pretending you were the only person that stood by him through EVERYTHING.

For arguments sake.. Martin Ling.

Jamie Cuteton player manager ain't a bad shout either although I'm not one for picking managers because of their footballing ability on the pitch. It's only because he has an obvious footballing brain he COULD be useful. But that's been said about many new managers going into management after ayo g.
I think I called Martin Ling out last year. He has experience at this level, knows non league football so could bring in some bright young things, and I think would appreciate a family club like ours and the supportive atmosphere. He is currently out of work and needs a break.

Judging by some of the subs we made in games Wayne was absent, Currie doesn't fill me with any confidence at all.

Wouldn't that have been Hacketts call being that he's the assistant?

We don't need the likes of Hackett being around this club very long with his cries of racial slurs whenever the going gets tough

Did he actually claim he'd been racially abused though? Or did someone make that up?

I mention WH as he is the assistant so he would be the ones making the decisions if WB isn't there, not Currie.

Fair enough, I remember Simmo saying at the time:
