No surprise at all, but still sad to see both he and Phipps leave... Any idea where he may be going? Would have to suggest, like HP that a move has already been secured.

Found something on an Aldershot Forum suggesting they thought he was off to Farnborough... That would make no sense at all. Aldershot would be a decent move for him.

Well with him departing we now have the most spineless squad I can remember. Need to get some real steel through the doors now, players that can kick the others up the arse when they don’t perform to standards.

I welcome the backroom change and a lot of the player changes, but it really is hard to feel connected to this squad right now. I really hope some of these new signings can step up to make themselves proper daggers and bring some enjoyment back to watching this club.

Hill gave his all you can’t question that but last season he was very poor on product, not disappointed to see him leave as keeping him would have cost a fair bit. Only lawless remains of the contract offers, again why we’re offering a deal when he has barely played during his spell here, don’t get it.

Ryan Hill was just annoying, always looking to wind up the opposition and looking for the foul rather than concentrating on end product. When he first arrived he looked very promising but never lived up to that promise.
Lawless shows promise and worth another contract. If we just worried about playing time we would have got rid of Harry Phipps long ago.

With regard to Lawless I believe there is a good player there but in the two seasons he has been with us his injuries have meant he has missed so many games.
I imagine the contract offer that we have made him would not be that lucrative and would reflect his injury record.
It is a gamble and only time will tell whether it works out good for club if indeed he signs it.

Given the recent updates with the club I imagine he will leave us for somewhere new on a higher wage than we would be willing to pay out... Would love to have him fit for the season with us, especially if N'Guessan was to move on to a team back in the NL or higher, but I have a terrible feeling we could keep him then be shouting at the club for the lack of squad depth come November when we have three or four first team starters out of action again and we are back here wondering why we gave contracts to players without a history of playing 40 games a season.

I know it's years ago but I looked back at 2005-08 and we had a couple of seasons where 9 of the squad either started or played in 42 or more league games... I miss those days where we had a settled and fit squad, playing together regularly in a formation that worked for us

I think if Lawless had been relatively injury free over the last two seasons and had shown his full potential he would surely have been snapped up by a higher league club in the past. I think with his injury record it would be a big gamble for another club to come up with a much better offer but you never know these days.

Lawless just signed a one year deal with us, hopefully it will work out well.
