If Morecambe go into administration at 4pm and then potentially can’t fulfill fixtures, will the national league run as a 23 team league or will someone recieve a reprieve?

The national league will operate with 23 teams. Sad to see what is happening at morecambe.

Always liked Morecambe since those battles we had back in the day, the Conference playoff semi their fans were incredibly magnanimous in defeat and then again in the League Two playoffs.

I hope they can sort out the deal.

In general though something has to change. Pretty much all clubs are now beholden to a benevolent dictator who can inflate the budget then decide to stop on a whim. If you don't follow suit you'll drop through the leagues. If you do the same then eventually you'll end up in administration or defunct. This football regulator can't come soon enough.

When will it come into play?

if schedules are not released yet then move up the last team relegated and then done the same for then next level down. that seems the fair thing to do.

You wouldn’t have the premier league getting away with one team less so neither should any other league, hopefully morecambe can get a reprieve but if not then I’m happy to clutch at the straw of improbability

Absolutely gutted for Morecambe but I’m clutching on that straw with you.

This morning it looks like Morecambe are going in and out of administration, so that straw is unlikely to be no more.

I’m delighted for their fans that they look like they are getting their club back.
