According to a few on twitter, we have been in contact with a 3-4 managers about the job for next season.

Who would people want in charge next season?

On train of thought is that if we don’t announce the new manager prior to the end of the season they may already be in a job elsewhere. I may be completely off with that but I would guess if the manager the club wanted was available now I would assume the owners would get him in so he can make a decision on the players that are already here.

Would be interesting to see who people think would be a good (realistic) appointment for the job.

Names I have seen linked are:

Danny Cowley
Lee Allinson
Kevin Maher (potentially expecting to be sacked at Southend)
Luke Garrard

I think Lee Allinson the manager of Hemel Hempstead would be a good choice. He has done a great job in getting a small cub like them in to contention of the playoffs.
He is 40 years of age and knows this division well and would be a realistic and worthwhile appointment.

I can't see Maher being sacked whilst Southend's season is still alive. Mind you if Mr Fernandes was sitting with Mr Still the other day, who did leave Southend, who knows?

No because he seems to be the same sort of level as Lee Bradbury. We need someone more ambitious who has been at a higher level and knows what it takes to win promotion, not almost.

A couple of old threads worth revisiting.
