John Grabowski is a guest on the Biz of Sport podcast.

I'm about 20 minutes in and it is so refreshing to hear someone talk genuinely about building the fanbase and the benefits the football club can bring to the community, but to talk about it in real terms, not just 'we need to attract more fans.'.

If this is the calibre of leadership we now have at the top of the club, and he doesn't just talk the talk, I think the long-term future of the club looks positive.

You can find the full interview here.

He comes across as a very impressive and knowledgeable guy, now we need to move forward as a club.
With his leadership I'm hoping we can succeed.

I thought that was impressive too and he does sound realistic about the enormous task ahead.
He said an immediate priority is to get people 'in the house' and get an average crowd of between 2000 and 2500.
Have we ever done that, though?
Anyone got the Division 2 (and the one season in Division 1 ) average crowds?

Spoke very well. But we have seen that before with Freund, and look where it got us. I’ll make my judgements based on actions and actions alone. Which so far he is doing well on as he got rid of Thommo and Bradbelly.

As for attendances, yes absolutely we have had 2000+ in regularly. Look at old highlights tapes of the John Still days. It will hit you like a tonne of bricks when you see the Bury Road end.

According to the European Football Statistics website we had an average gate of 2000+ in each season from 2008 to 2012. In 2010/11 (the year in Div 1) the average gate was 2770.

I must get out more....

There needs to be some serious ground upgrades to get us up the levels, the nice shiny away stand will be given to away fans yet again once we move up and the rest of the stadium does not live up to peoples expectations of modern day football, the sieve needs a huge upgrade and is not fit for purpose with big crowds. Talks of fan experience but that’s a big problem further down the line. Check out a Bromley’s nice new side terrace or Boreham woods behind the goal for home fans for what can be achieved.

There clearly is some sort of idea on how to do things, I think it will be slow burner and not huge sums of money thrown at it.
