Re: Managerial candidates
I can't see Maher being sacked whilst Southend's season is still alive. Mind you if Mr Fernandes was sitting with Mr Still the other day, who did leave Southend, who knows?

Re: New Manager?
My guess it will be someone well known, possibly one of AC's mates from West Ham. I did wonder if it might be AC with help from someone experienced upstairs. No prizes for guessing who that might be....

Re: Thompson steps down
I'm a lapsed fan so can't really comment on recent events. I had a few dealings with Mr Thompson over the years and found him polite and accomodating. I did witness some less savoury behaviour, including a foul mouthed response to an individual who had been hounding him on the train coming back from ...

Re: STATEMENT ON PLAYER ABUSE
I wondered in August if people were getting paid properly or feared that they wouldn't be. That usually translates to poor performances. I thought the team would scrape into the play offs this year. It now looks like relegation is very possible.

Still? I wondered how long it would take for him to come back!

Saw a guy wearing a new shirt at London Broncos rugby league on Sunday. Never seen anyone wearing a football shirt there before.

Re: Building work in the corner between Samuels stand and old family stand?
The bar in the sieve/Bury Road End amuses me on two levels. Firstly it astounds me that people can't go for more than a couple of hours without drinking nasty over priced beer at half time. Secondly, recognising the fact that people seem to want this facility, why haven't the club done something ...

I keep reading on here that Mr Thompson should be removed. Any thoughts on how that could be achieved without falling foul of the unfair dismissal legislation under employment law?

Re: The Egyptian
The intervention of this guy strikes me as being even more bizarre than Mr Tamplin's involvement. At least Mr Tamplin was born in the area and lived nearby.

This season we have dropped 17 points in games because of the opposition scoring in the 80th minute or later.

Re: Has he gone yet?
Well I suppose there is an obvious candidate to come in to the end of the season but he has a role at Southend. At the time that Mr Strevens was sacked I wondered if Mr Still coming in to help him may have been a better option but that makes Mr King redundant. I can't be bothered to do the research ...

Re: Must be nailed on now
Keep on conceding in injury time. That's happened against Barnet, York, Forest Green, Eastleigh and Southend. The points dropped in injury time get us into mid table safety.
Are this mob fit enough to play 90 minutes? Doesn't seem like it to me.
