Re: Welcome Lee Allinson

Yes, a very good, positive and genuine sounding interview.
Blunt on older players, threatening on brick walls.

Re: John Grabowski

I thought that was impressive too and he does sound realistic about the enormous task ahead.
He said an immediate priority is to get people 'in the house' and get an average crowd of between 2000 and 2500.
Have we ever done that, though?
Anyone got the Division 2 (and the one season in Division 1 ...

Re: Farnborough (A)

The Farnborough manager is worth listening to on this. Clearly the game should have been postponed at 930 when the pitch was barely playable. This is 2026 and all major weather forecasts predicted more rain. I have never understood the 'must get the game on at all costs' mentality that still ...

Club updates /Anniversaries

It was good to remember 25 years ago at Charlton, even if does make some of us feel somewhat aged.
As DI Mike said, 10 years of upwardness followed, sadly, by 15 of downwardness.
I believe tomorrow marks 6 months since new owners were trumpeted. Since then nothing, apart from the 'hostage' video (as ...

Re: Wtf

Some good, thoughtful posts there from Merge, Len and Mark.
Prompting me to add some further musings:
The disgraceful, vile abuse that many witnessed at Solihull has clearly not taken long to reappear. I get why people are frustrated and angry - we all are - but such abuse, both online and at ...

Re: Ashley Hemmings

I'm sure if my memory serves me correctly that when he played for us ten years ago during a televised cup game he went to take a corner kick and missed the ball completely and kicked the corner flag. It was both funny and embarrassing at the time but would not want him back probably for that alone ...

Re: The signings continue...

Agree entirely with those last points, Len....Maghoma clear leader material....some scoring forwards required...I was struck watching the Boreham Wood/Torquay play off highlights how neat all the play was up until when the penalty area was reached where finishing was poor.

Re: New Owners?

I've shown several football supporting friends this statement and it has been pointed out that you do not 'sign' a manager.

Who wrote this? Take ownership! It isn't in the style/tone of any recent statements.

I'm surprised people on here haven't jumped at the Middle East reference after what's ...

Re: New Owners?

This is so puzzling.
Why isn't this statement, or an abbreviated version of it, on the official website?
Why did people get the message late on Friday evening via email or Facebook?
I've read it a few times and it has a strange feel to it, darts all over the place with taunting implications and ...

Re: Who would be the right man in charge next season?

I genuinely don't understand the above dialogue, Lee Bradbury this; someone turned down that.
I have been told, by someone present, that, at the AGM last night everyone was informed that 34 credible applicants had applied, 8 were shortlisted . This was reduced to 4 who were being interviewed ...

Congratulations to Ben and, as he says, the staff and players, for this award. Well deserved, I'm sure.

Actually thought Quigley was quite good when he came on.
McCallum may well be past his best days by all accounts.
Mark could be correct.

Re: New Signing Pending

Think you are spot on with all those remarks Dagger Joel.
Like everyone else I anxiously look most days for a marquee type/well known signing that shows we mean business but we do have a solid core.
Some of these other teams signings seem signs of desperation to me. Might work, probably won't.
