It is what it is.But the fact that such a small club can tear Southend a new arse last year and in previous years must be of enormous embarrassment to the mighty Southend United. Our 50 quid squad can take their expensive "Glamour team" at their own ground whilst if they beat us..it aint particularly big or clever and is in fact expected.Watch Phil brown whinge like a bitch when we turn 'em over yet again.

And bollocks Shrimpy 95% of your support is Southend 1st,try more like 50 % and Id believe you.

Phil browns got Mc Cann,

In his caravan,

He a paedophile,Hes a paedophile !!!!!
Let's get one thing straight. I wasn't criticising any of the fans who do attend, like you say it isn't there fault, they are doing their bit. As I also pointed out it is quite incredible the teams we compete with despite all this. But what's wrong with me being keen on trying to improve things, would no one else like to see an increase in attendances?

As for shrimpy, I live near Southend and know what the people that attend your games are like and let me tell you, a lot of people that attend your games are not Southend first. There are some spilt allegiances and there people there to just watching it because it's local and cheap. 95% of your fanbase are not Southend first and only

Arnu states that we take at least half of our support away to that hole you call a ground shrimpy whilst you bring alot less percentage wise

Due to half your mobs asbo not allowing them out after6 we should give you leeway
but we finished 9th!

Of course we bring less percentage wise. Are you Going to give us 3000 tickets?

If so many of our fans follow other clubs why is it that when the prem is on at the same time our attendances aren't affected.

I know a few former hammers that moved to the area and have become Southend and haven't Been to Upton park in years.

This really is a highly embarrassing thread on so many levels.

Firstly, why is anyone embarrassed by the number of people who come to watch us?? The reasons people don't come are various, but I wouldn't say any of these should lead to us as supporters becoming embarrassed about it!!!

Secondly, this whole "asbo", "dump", "caravan" thing is so cringey it is untrue. Do any of you know take a look around where our ground is and the surrounds?? Now it is not an issue to me, and not something I think about or would comment on, but to then start making comments about the Southend area and it's people is very very sad. I am not for one minute saying all of our support comes from areas directly around our ground, but neither would most club's in the modern world, including Southend. You do know that a lot of people who live in places like Southend moved there at some point to move out of the East End and surrounding areas for a more pleasant lifestyle don't you.

Thirdly (I know that's not a proper word), this talk of how many people have a second club to support is impossible to prove and also pointless!! Of course a large number of people who follow us have another Club (I don't) but is this a problem. And the same would apply to Southend, although I would say in all honesty it would be less of the case with them as they are a bigger Club, from a bigger town (in terms of no other clubs in immediate area) and have played several seasons in the last 25 years at a lot higher level. But so what. I would not have thought 95% of people who support Southend have another Club but who cares if they do.

And fourthly (which again, I know is not a word), is Shrimpy, or whatever your name is, there is lots of talk of numbers of fans etc but your maths are off. Our average HOME support is around 1,300, so we do indeed bring around 50% to you normally. Your average HOME support is not 6,000 but is more around 5,000. Now our end does not hold 2,500 (50% of this figure) but you will not bring the 1,500 you are allowed to on Saturday, I can almost guarantee. There is always talk of bringing this that and the other, but it rarely happens and it appears you have not even sold your seated allocation yet, so please cut the rubbish or move on.

I think if Phil Brown cant get Southend up with their resources Im not too sure he'd cope too well with ours.Would he even get out of bed for what we could pay him ? Each time we've beaten them he never gives us any credit, just covers his own arse and blames refs decisions and gives poor excuses. As for the paedophile song...I didn't make it up.Although with the amount of rapists,Drunk drivers and street thugs football encourages is it any surprise such songs exist. If its any consolation any managers name could be inserted in there although Phil brown and maybe the Gillingham manager are the only ones likely to live in a caravan

I could pick this post apart easily. I could go on about our attendances but we seem to have opinions on it either way I doubt we are going to agree. And clearly your not the only person that disagrees with me.

But as for Southend's attendance on Saturday, they took 1400 to Stevenage and there are a number of fans waiting for terrace tickets because they can't but them until the seats have sold out. The only times Southend haven't sold out 1500 is during night matches and even then they've come close. Do you honestly believe they won't sell out again this time. If they had unlimited tickets, they could probably get 2000 in

Interesting the only point you tackled or came back on was the one aimed at someone else. C'est la vie.

Feel free to pick apart the rest!?!?

Our average gate this season is currently at 5800 and with a few big games and an end of season promotion push we will easily average 6k.

As for the away game. We will sell out 100%. Simple as. Quite a few are waiting for terrace which only go on sale when the seats go which will be sold by today or tomorrow. I also know a good few people who will go in the home end as we have done previously. There will be 1500+ without a doubt.

Why your club just didn't give us all the tickets and make it all ticket is beyond me.

As for the Derby thing.

Col u and orient have been a Derby for sometime and we have only had matches against you in recent years.

Typically we have played those teams in promotion and relegation battles and at higher levels of football.

Personally doubt we will ever see daggers as a Derby match.

I would say

Col u
orient

Your average gate is 5,800 yes. Do you not let any away fans in?? If you look at the figures I quoted for our HOME attendance I said 1,300 as this is the average HOME attendance not the average attendance.

I think people are still missing the point anyway, but frankly I don't get this obsession with crowd numbers in all honesty. I wish we had more support, I really do, but it doesn't keep me awake at night.

Cant wait to see 1500 Southend bottling it against our handy 20 strong firm.

We'll take the TBS.

Of course we let away fans in but hardly any visit.
I think us and hartlepool are the least visited grounds in England.
Away Support out of the equation we still get around 5.5k per game as most teams bring about 200 odd. Even pompey only just grazed a 1000 odd.

As for Saturday all seats sold and terrace now on sale and i would expect them to be gone today.

Gates are important as clubs finances are based against a percentage of them.
