Morning all, hope everyone is keeping well.

Have just seen our new (and good) commercial manager, Lloyd has announced he has been made redundant.

Interesting decision to say the very least at a time when bringing extra cash into the club will be of absolute importance ...... :eh:

Shame to see someone made redundant. But how many commercial managers have we had and how much of an effect have they had? Think the money is better off being put into the playing staff for the time being.

It is never nice when jobs are made redundant. And it is jobs that are made redundant, not people.

Sad though it is, I am not in the slightest surprised about this. Businesses everywhere are battening down the hatches and
cutting costs where they can, I don’t expect the Daggers to be any different.

Hopefully the job or role may return after a period of time.

I’m very busy at the moment but if Lloyd or any other Dagger who has lost their job wants a chat with me, I’m happy to help if I can. In case you aren’t aware I’m a qualified careers advisor (RCDP) and am doing a shedload of redundancy counselling at the moment.
I mainly specialise in book publishing and the media but a lot of the advice and guidance I give is universal.

Can we not make Quigley redundant? Why are footballers immune from redundancy?

You can but you owe them the money due from their contract (I think)

Making someone redundant involves no longer needing someone to do their job.

It would be pretty difficult to argue you no longer need anyone to do the role of anyone in a football team.

We just wouldn’t be able to advertise for a non scoring striker for 3 months
