How many of these clubs have been in the National League and have any ever been in EFL?
Clubs who I can remember being in the National League : Ebbsfleet, Dover, Dorking, Maidenhead, Bath (maybe??). I am sure there are more if you go back in time

Clubs who I can remember being in the EFL I am pretty sure is only Torquay who had a long spell and a couple of years in League One, relegated about ten or fifteen years ago?

Maidstone were back in the day but they got kicked out for lack of money I think

If you go back further to Dagenham Fc we also had games against some of the others as well. The old Enfield Fc were a huge club in non league terms and normally came out winners against us. I also remember playing Chesham, Slough and Hampton and Richmond on a regular basis if my memory is correct.

It was at Hampton and Richmond that we sealed the Ryman League title on Easter Saturday 2000. One of the best Dagenham games I’ve ever seen. I also think that year Chesham may have been the only team to take points off of us at home (could be wrong there)??

Maidstone, Dover and Ebsfleet we have played loads of times previously. Dover was often our Christmas/NY Derby game when both in the Conference.

From my recollection:

Played in the NL:
Bath
Dorking
Diver
Ebbsfleet
Farnborough (though they were Farnborough Town back then, I believe)
Maidenhead
Maidstone
Slough
Torquay

Salisbury City did too before they went bust, with the current Salisbury team being the new club

Played in the EFL:
Torquay

Maidstone did play in the FL as well, Mr J Still got them there, in the early 90s. They played at Dartford at that time and then went out of business. Side included the likes of Ken Charley, Tony Sorrell and Warren Barton who will be familiar to Red Forest/Dagenham fans.

It has finally hit home that we are in the 6th division. There is nothing exciting about any of it for me.
Trust. Do you think we're the first team in history to play against BOTH Southampton and their noted local rivals AFC Totton? Maybe Young could put that on his CV.
Oh, I can answer that one! We are not the first - my other team, Walton & Hersham played Southampton in the FA Cup 1st round in 1957, losing 6-1 at home. (Unfortunately I could not attend the match, as I hadn't been born yet). More recently, W&H played AFC Totton in the Southern League Premier for the past 2 seasons.

I guess that many D&R fans won't know much about AFC Totton, who have only recently emerged from the county leagues, but they are well funded and they were very strong in the SLP, finishing 2nd in both seasons before winning the playoffs at the second time of asking. They are in this league on merit and so are we - I expect they will be competitive again in NLS so we can't just turn up and expect to beat them with our glorious history.
